Jennifer + Greg are the proud parents of the cutest little boy, Gio. And their family is literally growing by the minute as they await the arrival of their little girl. Gio can’t wait to be the best big brother ever for his little sister. We can’t wait to meet her either! Jen shared some kind words about their experience with us:

I knew as soon as we found out we were expecting again I wanted to capture it all.  I missed doing it my first time around, and knowing this would likely be the last time I would have this experience, I would not miss out again. There was of course no question who I would ask to capture this memory. Jenni and Ulysses did such an amazing job with our wedding, I still get compliments almost 6 years later on our photos. Just as expected, they pulled it off once again. This maternity shoot was the first time in almost 6 years we have seen both Ulysses and Jenni, but they are so warm it felt as if it was just old friends getting together for a visit. Our son took to them almost immediately, and the entire shoot was just a ton of fun and lots of laughs (except for the inevitable bug bites, of course). The results took our breath away. I am so glad we did it and cannot wait to see the results of the next shoot once our little princess arrives. Thank you both for never letting us down!

Thank you!
Jen

Thank YOU, Jen, Greg, and Gio. We already loved your family, and it’s about to become even more beautiful. 🙂

Jackie + Jonathan enjoy a very sweet relationship. So when they told us they wanted their engagement photos to take place at the spot where Jonathan proposed, we knew it would be absolutely perfect for them. The views of the Hudson River near sunset were spectacular, and the mood was just right for this adorable couple to simply enjoy being close again. We can’t wait to join them once more for their upcoming wedding at The Views at Mount Fuji.

Both Christine + Amedeo worked incredibly hard to make this wedding day as perfect as they could imagine. It all came together beautifully, from the lovely table centerpieces hand-painted by Christine’s mom to all the lovely details put together by Christine. She was like a vision in her designer gown, and Amedeo was clearly moved at the sight of her. The classic Alfa Romeo rebuilt and restored by Amedeo and his dad was definitely a big highlight of the day, too, its engine purring contentedly at being the center of such attention. Days like this make us so happy to be involved in this way with such awesome couples.

Our time with Alison + Dustin’s for their engagement photos could not have been more enjoyable. The light was beautiful, and these two brought their ‘A’ game for stunning results! Alison + Dustin shared their excitement about their engagement photos with the note below:

Ulysses and Jenni’s creative spirits and artistic details made for the most rewarding engagement shoot and reveal. Dustin and I had never had professional photos taken together before, so we were a little nervous going into the shoot. Our nerves were quickly put to rest. Ulysses and Jenni have a way of making you feel so comfortable and relaxed, you barely even realize they are taking your picture!

They chose the perfect location for us. It reminded us of our college campus, where we first met. One of my favorite parts of the shoot was taking photos on the amazing cobblestone walkway. You know you’ve found the right photographers when they will climb on ladders, risking bee stings, just to get those perfect shots from above! To incorporate some fun props into the shoot, we set up a picnic on the lawn, complete with a blanket from our school, mustache and lip coffee mugs (to match our Gatsby-style invitations), and delicious “Lobster tail” pastries, reminiscent of our New England roots.

We were blown away by our photos during the reveal. Ulysses and Jenni patiently helped us filter through all of our favorites to create the most amazing prints, wall art and album. When we shared our photos with my parents, they told me it was like Ulysses and Jenni had captured our souls in our photos. Dustin and I couldn’t agree more!

We’re really excited about this awesome twosome! We can’t wait for their autumn wedding at FEAST at Round Hill.

There’s no joy quite like seeing and photographing a newborn baby. That experience is multiplied by the fact that we get to see one of our favorite couples again and watch their family grow. It was a complete delight to spend the day with Joette + Pat, and to enjoy some playtime with our newest little friend. 🙂

Jennifer + Ben’s date day on the Hudson River was pure perfection. We can’t express how excited we are to join this awesome couple for their autumn wedding at Sleepy Hollow Country Club. They’re equally as excited, and Jen expresses their feelings about working with us in her own kind words:

We cannot begin to tell you how thrilled we are with our photos and our engagement shoot! We do not typically love being in front of a camera, but that afternoon was definitely an exception! You both made us feel so comfortable right from the start. We were actually having so much fun, we didn’t want it to end!

We knew from what we had seen of your work that we would love our photos, but seeing our slideshow at the reveal gave me chills! We loved every photo more than the next and even had a difficult time choosing.  We are so happy with our album and photos!

We are beyond excited for our wedding day and thrilled to have you as our photographers! We can’t wait to see what you capture on our special day!

Here’s a tip to help take your ceremony decor from the good to Great: Rather than a plain white paper runner (if you’re using a runner at all), consider one with a beautiful design. It will add to the rest of your lovely decor, especially if this is an outdoor ceremony. It will hold up much better than a paper runner, which often gets caught on shoe heels, gets torn, and wrinkles – not what you want in the background of your photos!. It’s a little thing, but it will add a lot to the beauty and uniqueness of your ceremony.

Kim + Chris had an incredibly perfect day for their West Point wedding. Whether it was seeing one another for their private reveal prior to the wedding, laughing and joking with their closest friends, or Kim dropping to the ground for some unprompted pre-ceremony pushups (IN HER GOWN no less!), they were a complete blast to photograph. These two know how to have a great time together, and we’re excited to have been there to witness and capture it all for them.

Kara + Nick’s wedding day could not have been more delightful. They are the sweetest couple you’d want to meet, and they put complete trust in us from the time Nick and his buddies began assembling a tiny Lego version of himself and Kara, to Kara’s first Reveal of herself in bridal attire to a waiting Nick in the beautiful gardens of Round Hill, and beyond. Light rain showers couldn’t dampen their joy in the day, and the sprinkles only added beauty to our private photo session with this delightful duo.

It’s almost impossible to know where to start when it comes to describing Heartie + Chris’ utterly fabulous wedding day in the beautiful rolling hills of Hudson, NY. Do we start with Heartie’s pop of amazing red details? perhaps the mariachi band? maybe the rustic-chic barn reception? or how about the horse on which Heartie rode into the ceremony? or certainly the uniquely beautiful vistas of The Hill itself? We can definitely say the spirit of the day emanated from the personalities, energy, and generous hearts of these two amazing people. Heartie + Chris’ day was truly a product of how they feel about their family and friends. We are incredibly glad to know them and to have been part of this unforgettable page in their lives.

There are few things more enjoyable in springtime than walking the streets of NYC with a perfect couple like Kathryn + Ryan, who finished off their engagement session with a frosty ice cream treat. 🙂  We can’t wait to join them for their autumn wedding at the beautiful site of Benmarl Winery.

What a delightful day we had with Cathy + Tim! Though the forecast threatened with storms and wind, their perfect day wasn’t touched at all by poor weather. They brought their ‘A’ game, a playful sense of fun, and their custom Converse wedding sneakers. Their guests were treated to a great time at The Grandview.

Camille + Harry have this wonderful playfulness about them that keeps them close and connected together. That same quality also makes them delightfully photogenic. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable photo session with them and can’t wait to see them again for their summer wedding at the lusciously green Catlin Gardens.   More with Camille + Harry.

  • Dotun - I love the different scenes, looks like they had fun.July 6, 2013 – 11:01 AM

We can’t get enough of Katie + Mike. They’re an adorable couple who brighten the day for anyone who meets them. They’re just as in love with their engagement photos as we are! Katie describes their experience with these very kind words:

When Mike and I were looking for our wedding photographer, Ulysses Photography was our top choice.  Ulysses and Jenni were the first and only photographers we met with and, soon after we stepped foot in their door, we knew that we didn’t need to look any further.  It goes without saying that their work is incredible, but their personalities were what really solidified our decision. They are incredibly sweet and genuine. They are so enthusiastic about their work, and they sincerely care about making your photos fantastic. Their fun, positive energy is contagious.

So for our engagement session, we knew that regardless of what we did, they would work their magic to produce amazing photos. But we wanted to make sure we put a personal spin on our session. When Mike proposed, he hid the ring in a cupcake box—so we knew that we wanted to incorporate cupcakes into our engagement session (and, of course, we’ll take any excuse to stray from the wedding diet and munch on some sweets).  And since we love going on picnics, we figured that would be a perfect way for us to relax and just enjoy our date day.  We also wanted to make sure our more predominant silly side came through in the photos, too—that’s where the books came in.

Ulysses & Jenni really helped to make us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the session.  We had such a fun, easy day with them! Mike isn’t the type to enjoy having his photo taken (or to look forward to the results), but they somehow changed his perspective and kept him engaged in the process—I’m not sure that anyone else could have done that.

When we went for our reveal, Ulysses & Jenni had a tray filled with goodies for us to snack on while we looked at our photos (yet another example of how awesome they are).  And when we saw our photos, we were blown away.  It was so difficult to pick our favorite photos because each one was more amazing than the next. We just received our prints and wall art, and we are so thrilled with how they turned out!

We truly can’t wait to join these two for their wedding at the Fallkirk Estate.

We’re every bit as excited about being Kim + Kenny’s photographers as they are about having us join them for their wedding day! Their date day (engagement photo session) included lots of hugging and plenty of laughs. This awesome duo are definitely connected, and they shared their thoughts about the photo shoot and their experience with us:

This is a very special time for us, and it was important to capture these special moments. Stella is our our beautiful pitbull/lab pup, and it was important to have Stella in a few photos because she is the start of our little family.

We loved the photo shoot experience! You and Ulysses made us feel so comfortable and at ease the whole time. It was such an enjoyable day!

Upon opening our photo book, we were absolutely delighted by the beauty and quality of the photos! It was very emotional because the photos really captured the essence of our relationship. This isn’t just a “picture book,” this is a piece of art that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

We are thrilled to have you as our photographers! We can’t wait to see you on our wedding day!

We can’t wait either. Their wedding at Catlin Gardens is bound to be a perfect day and a joy for everyone.

Val & Ben’s day was everything they dreamed of, full of love and friendship and celebration. These two are among the sweetest people we’ve met. We know from personal experience what their friends have known for years — they give warm and generous hugs. We’re more than delighted to have spent such a beautiful day with these two. Our heartfelt congrats to them!

  • Val - Jenni and Ulysses,
You guys seriously work MAGIC. We were SO excited to have you at our wedding day. Your enthusiasm and energy were unmatched and really helped kick everything off. Even when I was terrified about the weather, you just said “we’ll take fun umbrella and wellie photos in the rain,” which was just genius!! I love the photos and I’m so excited to share them right now!
so much loves and (real) hugs (now that the makeup is off) and kisses!

Martine + Kurt’s wedding day was everything they dreamed it would be. Between the beauty of their riverside hometown on the Hudson River, where their ceremony was held, Martine’s gorgeous Manolos and custom hair piece, the historic Thayer Hotel in West Point, NY, and the candy table spread for their guests at the end of the evening, there was so much that added not only a sense of legacy and tradition to their day, but also some fun surprises. The cherry on top for us was being able to see some familiar faces and friends again. Oh, and be sure to check out the back of Martine’s dress – so unique!

We couldn’t have asked for a more delightful engagement session than the one we had with Michelle + Mark. We can’t get enough of them! Her sweet note echoes not only their own feelings about the session, but also conveys the same excitement we felt when spending this Spring afternoon with this amazing couple:

Dear Ulysses and Jenni,

Mark and I can’t thank you enough for giving us the opportunity to capture this very special moment in our lives…the anticipation, excitement, and journey leading up to our wedding day.  With that being said, engagement is such a special time and we couldn’t have been more excited for our engagement shoot!  While we weren’t sure what to expect, we knew it was going to be masterfully carried out because we had complete confidence and faith in your vision and skill.  You two are truly amazing at what you do and we couldn’t have been more grateful to find you.

The experience from beginning to end was inspiring and so incredibly fun.  We were working with very cold and windy weather, but you kept Mark and I motivated and through your guidance, we were able to ease into the shoot and have fun…I can’t stress enough how much fun we had, one of the best dates ever!  The reveal was just as fantastic; I couldn’t even begin to describe the feelings I had seeing our photos displayed on your screen.  I fell in-love with Mark all over again…my heart was singing.

Our save-the-date magnets and art book arrived a few weeks after the reveal and we couldn’t be happier with it all.  The magnets are fantastic, exceptional quality!  And the art book, a true piece of art.  It’s absolutely beautiful…an investment worth making.  Mark and I are so happy we did.

Thank you again, Ulysses and Jenni, for the amazing adventure!  Mark and I are that much more excited for our wedding, especially for the ever-lasting memory of it that you will capture through your exceptional photography.

Sincerely,

Michelle & Mark

Getting the call that Baby Jake had arrived was one of the most enjoyable things about our early Spring. We’re so happy for Stacey + Alen. Watching Jake grow is going to be the greatest of pleasures. Stacey shared her thoughts about their baby’s first photo shoot:

One of the first emails I sent after Jake was born was to Ulysses and Jenni.  I could not wait for our photo shoot and the chance to dress my newborn son up in a variety of adorable outfits and stick him in cute baskets.  Our new apartment was already covered in our engagement photos and I was eager to add new baby photos to the mix.

As soon as Ulysses and Jenni got started, I knew the photos would be priceless. Just like with our engagement shoot, the very first photo was one of my favorites. As a new mom, I was a bit worried about how the little guy would handle the experience, but Ulysses and Jenni were amazing with him.  I just wish I could have them over to help out him to sleep at night! I believe Alen even offered them to live I our basement apartment.

It goes without saying, that I am thrilled with the results. It was nearly impossible to choose our favorites at our photo reveal.  Each picture is more special than the first and I can’t wait to get them hung on our wall (which we will do as soon as we have a free minute).
