Sora & Alexander enjoyed the most perfect wedding day you could imagine. We found each of them busily and very happily taking care of all the last-minute details for their ceremony, as well as seeing to the needs of their parents and grandparents. Sora’s beautiful elegance was breathtaking, and her naturally unpretentious enjoyment of her day made for some of our favorite found moments throughout the day. It was no wonder that Alex was so moved when he saw her in her gown for the first time. We also loved our portrait session with them. There was plenty of dreamy romance to be found, along with lots of serious fun with their amazing wedding party. The girls definitely glammed it up for us. Not to be outdone, Alex and his groomsmen showed off just how photographically versatile they were, too! Another favorite moment was when Sora changed into her colorful Korean dress. We couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable day with this wonderful couple.

Erin & George’s wedding was every bit as much fun as we’d anticipated it would be. We knew George’s Greek heritage would make for some particularly warm moments throughout the day. With over 30 of their closest family & friends in their party, it sometimes felt as if everyone invited to the wedding was also somehow involved in the photos, but this only added to the great fun factor. Everyone let us in on the fun and energy of the day (including George’s stunt, a “death defying leap” into the arms of his groomsmen), which always makes for some of our favorite times when we’re shooting. Erin was particularly beautiful in her dramatic dress and blue Manolos, but she made sure they were working for HER, and not the other way around. We had a fantastic time with this awesome couple as we squeezed the last bit of autumn sunlight out of their photo session. And then it was time to join everyone for some Greek dancing and a huge party!

What could be better than to enjoy the autumn season in the Catskills of New York? And what better place to hold a wedding in the Catskills than at the Onteora Mountain House, with its breathtaking views over the scenic Esopus Valley! Erika & Mick couldn’t have chosen a better location and season for their wedding. Even the bumblebees were enjoying the flowers they’d found in the bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets. There was a truly joyful spirit that filled the air as their friends and family celebrated with them and gave their whole-hearted support to the happy couple. It was such a privilege to be there with them to witness their union and capture all the emotion surrounding it.

Hudson Valley Magazine put out the invitation to “Party With the Best”. Guests from all over the Hudson Valley region drove out to the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, where vendors of all sorts showed off their very best offerings. Whether you were interested in food & drink, health & beauty, fun & entertainment, kids & pets, music & dancing, shopping ’til you dropped, or just wanted to network with other professionals, there was plenty on offer at the BOHV Party 2010. As guests filed into the hotel entrance, they were individually greeted by the excellent staff of Cosmopolitan Management. After being provided with a floor plan to find their interests, the red carpet treatment continued with an opportunity to have their photo taken before entering the main party room. The comments we heard from everyone were very positive, and it was definitely not a party to be missed. Even the Poughkeepsie Fire Department showed up to make sure everyone was safe while having a good time. It was great to be invited back again by Hudson Valley Magazine as their event photographer. We got to network with a number of community professionals, and to our delight we had a chance to see some of our very own favorite couples, too! Thanks for joining us for the gala evening!

We met Courtney & Matt relatively late in the their wedding planning, but it was clear they were a couple who wanted absolutely no regrets when it came to their wedding photography. Only minutes into our initial meeting, and we quickly became attached to one another. Everything about their day was simply Grand (with a capital ‘G’), from Courtney’s spectacular Monique Lhuillier dress with its daring open back, to her hair & makeup (eyes inspired by a Jennifer Aniston magazine cover) to her now-famous sparkling Louboutins, to their reception at the sophisticated Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Westchester (we have incredible castle and mansion venues here in NY!). Matt was a perfect groom in his classic black tux. We were truly excited for them, and that their day was such an exceptional one. Our private photo session with them was equally as exciting. Their band rocked the evening with songs, and Matt & Courtney led the floor with dancing. Their exuberance and love for one another was plain to see.

Enjoy these teasers for now. The complete gallery will be available soon in the “Boutique” area of our main website. We’d love to hear from you all, so please leave a comment! And feel free to click the button below to “Recommend” us to your friends!

When we met Lauren at a bridal event some months ago, we knew she and her beau were going to be something special. Her eyes sparkled when she talked about her wedding and about her fiance. She called our studio that very same day to ask about photographing her wedding. We knew we wanted to jump at the chance to do so. We had a relaxed and fun engagement photo session together, along with their puppy, Penny. The three of them already make for a beautiful family, and we can’t wait to join them for their wedding celebration at the Thayer Hotel in the beautifully scenic and historic town of West Point, NY.

Previews from Courtney & Matt’s outstanding wedding day at the the Sleepy Hollow Country Club are coming soon. We’re hard at work getting their images ready for your enjoyment. So put on your Louboutins, party dresses, and tuxedos. Keep your browsers bookmarked to this blog! And please have your comments ready to tell them how much you enjoyed their day!

Autumn is one of the most popular seasons for future brides to enjoy a lot of shopping for their wedding extravaganza! Once again, Westchester Magazine accommodated by hosting their annual Unveiled Bridal Event at the CV Rich Mansion, a grand Victorian estate with strolling gardens, elegant sun rooms, and a majestic ballroom. Even the thunderstorms couldn’t prevent enthusiastic brides from coming to see some of the area’s top wedding vendors so they could discuss their mutual vision of how to create the most enjoyable wedding experience possible. It was a joy to be the magazine’s photographers for the evening, capturing the models on the runway, sample the food and drinks, experience the buzz and energy of the evening, talk with brides and their moms, and to see lots of familiar faces once more.

  • Ulysses - Thank you, Jessica! And it probably goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway: We missed seeing you there! We saw your sister (her booth was in the same room as ours), and she told us about your very happy news. Big hugs and congrats! 🙂October 8, 2010 – 11:54 AM

  • Jessica - The photos look fabulous, as always – I hope many brides are lucky enough to book you from this show! MWAH!October 8, 2010 – 11:51 AM

From the moment we first met with Amanda & Tony, we knew we’d become good friends, which is just the way we like it. Warm relationships are what drive our photography. This special couple gave us complete access to how they felt about one another, and how they felt on their wedding day. Their strong emotions and passion were evident in the tears, smiles, laughter and hugs that began with their private Reveal with one another earlier in the day, and continued with their wonderful families and close friends throughout the rest of the afternoon at their delightful garden wedding.

The complete gallery will be available soon in the “Boutique” area of our main website. We’d love to hear your comments below.

  • Ulysses - Thank you, Christine!! It means a lot when it comes not only from another artist like yourself, but also when it comes from one of our most enthusiastic brides! I hope you and Dom are doing well! Hugs to you both!October 19, 2010 – 3:38 PM

I love the fountain in front of Tony & Amanda, simply GORGEOUS! They did make a BEAUTIFUL couple! And I love the photo of Amanda’s Bouquet of Garden Roses & Gardenias! Cannot wait to see more! You are both fantastic! Maryann, Flowers On The Porch.September 30, 2010 – 9:52 AM

Emily & PJ are an incredibly sweet and warm couple. We especially loved joining them for the afternoon at one of their favorite places to spend time together in New York City. Their fun and easy personalities made them a true joy to be around. The lazy, hazy atmosphere of our balmy afternoon produced some wonderfully delicious light that was just perfect for what we wanted in their photo session. They looked amazing together! And we love the fact that Em & PJ “get” us and the way we love to photograph. It was a perfect session for a perfect couple. 🙂

We were so happy to be Melissa & Mark’s wedding photographers for what seems like an event that took place only yesterday. But we’re equally as thrilled to be the photographers for Baby Mason. He hasn’t arrived just yet, but he was definitely active and making his presence felt during Melissa’s maternity photos session! She’s just as beautiful, wonderful, and exciting to shoot as she ever was. Melissa and Mark are patiently waiting for Mason to arrive, and so are we!

Enjoy more of our photos with Melissa & Mark.

  • Jamee - Melissa, you look gorgeous! Mazel tov to you and Mark!September 27, 2010 – 11:25 PM

Courtney & Matt found us when well along in their planning for their wedding. Only moments into our first meeting with them, we knew we had to photograph them! Besides what promises to be a magnificent autumn wedding at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club, we wanted them to experience how it feels to fall in love with your photos. Our engagement session with them at a location that had meaning to them was the perfect opportunity to get to know them better and let them show off their love, their style, and their warm personalities. We could tell they’d put complete trust in us for this session, making for an incredibly fun time for all. We had a feeling Courtney would bring along a favorite pair of Christian Louboutins, and we were NOT disappointed! What a wonderful pair!! — the couple, that is. 😉

  • Ulysses - David, thank you so much!! It’s the biggest pleasure to hear compliments from family of the bride and groom! Those “altered color” images are actually produced by use of a specially modified camera, so that it sees specifically in the infrared spectrum of light. It produces an almost otherworldly, soft, artistic look that we love, and which we’re known in our area for shooting. No Photoshop tricks involved. Courtney & Matt were both so willing and trusting during our shoot, and they even tried some *crazy* things for us. Nothing gets us more excited about the photography than to have couples this enthused. It’s that relationship that we believe lifts our work that extra notch higher.September 24, 2010 – 3:03 PM

  • david - yes, even I, the non-fashion oriented brother-in-law, recognize and appreciate the significance of the red soles!

Besides Matt carrying his beautiful bride off into the future, my favorite are the altered color/light pics. Way cool…..makes me wish I knew how to use my SLR camera 🙂September 24, 2010 – 2:46 PM

  • Ulysses - Thanks, Jess!! But do you mean the red soles of those shoes??? or the red of the playful dress! Both are awesome, aren’t they!? LOL!! 😀September 24, 2010 – 11:27 AM

  • jessica - Really beautiful!! Love the red and how it pops against the blue.September 24, 2010 – 11:24 AM

Janine & Jarret live out in Boston, so it was only natural for them to celebrate their fabulous wedding day at a location on the water. Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club was the perfect venue for capturing their spirit of passion and fun, and for creating striking portraits of this amazing couple. Everyone had a spectacular night of joyful dancing and festivity.

Raquel & Greg  found us about a year after their own wedding. As part of their 1st year celebration, they chose to treat themselves to a dream portrait session with us that would show off Raquel’s warm vivaciousness and love of dancing, combined with Greg’s passion for his beautiful wife, as well as a way to show his pride for his work with New York’s men in blue, the NYPD. What an amazing and stylish pair! We could not have had a more enjoyable time. With perfect evening weather, a change of clothes, a fantastic venue to put them into a romantic mood, and an exciting couple to photograph, we kept going until sunset ended our session. Until the next one! 🙂

  • Ulysses - Phoenix!! Thank you so much! They’re such a beautiful couple. We can’t wait to do it again sometime.September 23, 2010 – 10:18 AM

Take one part Julie + one part Greg, throw in two shots of rock star, add a dash of romance, garnished with a whole lot of fun, then stir it in a Brooklyn shaker, and you get the most incredibly delicious drink — I mean engagement session — you’d ever ask for! 🙂 Julie really does sing in a rock band, and Greg totally looks like he could, too! After joining this fun-loving couple near a little chocolate shop in DUMBO Brooklyn, we wound our way towards the magnificent blue Manhattan Bridge. The fun began immediately as they played and laughed together on the lawn, giving us total freedom to show off their utter uniqueness and completely cool vibe. We were probably the loudest little group in the park (there were at least two other groups taking photos, but they looked bored). Whether climbing fences, nearly taking a dip in the East River, enjoying an embrace while seated on a stoop, playing a guitar, or having a bit of fun boxing together — yes, I said boxing — these two are completely devoted to making one another happy. We’re even more eager to join them for their summer 2011 wedding at Onteora Mountain House.

  • Ulysses - Julie, THAT is exactly what we were hoping to do for you and Greg. Nothing pleases us more than to see you be able to relax, be yourself, and also take a few risks on this ride with us! It was a wonderful experience photographing with you both. Let’s do it again sometime soon. Oh… wait… we WILL! LOL 😀September 20, 2010 – 6:27 PM

  • Ulysses - Jeannie, THANK YOU!!! From start to the end of this session, it was one fantastic ride. Their own creativity honestly kept us inspired. Such a fun day! 🙂September 20, 2010 – 6:26 PM

  • Jeannie - Love, love, love! What a dream couple, awesome poses, lighting and processing! 🙂September 20, 2010 – 4:16 PM

Debbie & Mike have been some of our favorite people to photograph for years now. We were so happy to hear about the arrival of their precious little peanut, Chloe. She loves to cuddle with her mom and dad, and they clearly love spending as much time as they possibly can with her, making her newborn photo session a true joy. It was such a privilege producing these for them. We’re really looking forward to getting to know Baby Chloe better over the next year.

Andrea & Justin had the perfect wedding day. A hurricane threatening the east coast was simply not an option, so we were all glad to see the beautiful weather arrive just in time for them. Andrea was stunning in her customized Vera Wang (a little bird told us she chose this design well before Chelsea Clinton did). A pair of blue Badgley Mischkas completed her fashionable look. Justin was initially speechless as he turned to see his bride for the first time during their private Reveal. Naturally we loved the way they let us “in” for some romantic photos of them at the Rutgers Gardens. Another fun highlight of the evening came when after their introductions, Justin donned a black hat, and they showed off their skills with a specially choreographed first dance to the tune, “Beyond the Sea”. The crowd went wild over their fantastic performance! There were lots of beautiful little touches like this throughout the day that made it a truly special joy to photograph.

  • Ulysses - Anthony, thank you so much! We’re so proud of how well Andrea & Justin did during their photo shoot with us. And the entire day was simply beautiful. Very happy for them and for the family. All the special little touches added great flare and style to an already wonderful day.September 8, 2010 – 11:16 AM

  • Ulysses - Thank you, Jessica! It was really cute, too. They recognized what I was doing and when Andrea saw the camera she asked, “oh are you taking one of those infrared photos now??” Pretty cool. 🙂September 8, 2010 – 11:14 AM

  • Jenni - Anthony, it’s great to hear from you! We really enjoyed meeting you at the wedding. Your sister is indeed stunning. 🙂 We’re so glad you’re enjoying the previews, but there is a lot more to come! You played an important role in the day, too, so there are some great photos with you coming up. 🙂September 7, 2010 – 1:46 PM

  • Anthony - Ulysses and Jen, you guys did an amazing job this weekend! My sister is absolutely stunning (and you managed to make Justin look pretty good too!). The preview shots are so cute – can’t wait to see the rest. Thanks again!September 7, 2010 – 10:14 AM

  • jessica - Lovely. LOVE her dress. My favorite image is the gorgeous infrared. Beautiful couple!September 6, 2010 – 9:49 PM

We got progressively more excited about Melissa & Alex’s approaching wedding day. We knew how much thoughtfulness they each put into its preparation. That’s always a great sign there will be lots for us to photograph. High heels, a 1957 Cadillac, beautiful venue decor, and an outstanding view of the Mid-Hudson Valley were some of the visual highlights of the day. But even more inviting than the details and decor was the spirit of remarkably close friendship that was so evident throughout the day. Following a heartwarming ceremony just before sunset, we were able to spend some invaluable time alone with Melissa & Alex for some fashionably romantic portraits. They knocked it out of the park, just like we knew they would. Melissa & Alex, thanks so much for choosing us as your family photographers!

Iris & Nick came to us with a sense of complete trust and openness with regard to their photographic experience. It’s a good thing, too, because we were really excited to see them for their session, and we wanted them to relish not only how fantastic they both looked but also just how much fun a session like this would be. Iris chose a fabulous, stylish new dress with eye-catching sandals. Nick provided a strong but warm complement to her and was there for Iris throughout the entire session. Everything was just the way it should be. Enjoy the results!

Ada & Jim are a truly special pair. We instantly fell in love with this lovely couple from Day #1 of our first getting together with them. But how could you not? Ada is such a cool person to be around, and she was drop-dead gorgeous, marvelously statuesque in her wedding gown; and Jim has such an engaging, friendly way about him that you can’t help but want to hang with him for the day. They chose to see one another before their ceremony, producing some of our personal favorite photos from the day. Jim was clearly amazed by how stunning Ada looked! With the joy of their friends and family surrounding them, the bright summer day was positively filled with warm hugs and tears of joy. The beautiful setting of the vineyards and grand view of the Hudson Valley put everyone into a romantic party mood. Simply put, the day could not have been more perfect for such a wonderful couple. Ada & Jimmy, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day!
