Jackie + Jonathan are such a sweet couple. Their mutual love for Japanese themes was wonderfully highlighted on their wedding day. We can’t help but feel over-the-top excitement about being chosen as Stephanie + Phil’s photographers! Their flair for fashion and their passion for one another is inspiring. Stephanie shared the following very kind words about their dynamic experience with us:

This was the first time we have ever done a photo shoot together.  We were definitely excited and nervous to see how the photos would come out. We were really hoping that our love would shine through in the photos, and Jenni & Ulysses captured every moment! In the beginning we were both really nervous, it kind of felt like a first date. As we began to warm up and get comfortable throughout the shoot, we were having so much fun, not only laughing and joking, but also growing closer to each other in letting our closeness and affection show through the photos. 

We used hay, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, and soccer gear to have as much fun and show our genuine selves in the photo shoot. Even though we may have been a bit over the top with how many props we had, Jenni & Ulysses didn’t limit us to what we wanted to use in our photo shoot. 

As we were opening the wall art, it took us back to the day of the shoot. We were really hoping to have some shots that we could use to decorate in our new home after the wedding. Little did we know how many great shots there would be to use!

We’re so pumped about Alyssa + Alex. They drove all the way from Maryland, in part to spend a fun time getting to know us better. There’s something really special about this pair that just made us all click instantly. It put a smile on our faces to see that Alex had even brought along his ukulele as a reminder of the time he’d proposed to Alyssa — just fantastic! Alyssa sent this kind note about their experience with us:

From the day we met Ulysses and Jenni, we knew it was the perfect match to capture the most important time of our lives. Alex and I have never been the “showy” type. We always have been laid back and natural, and that’s exactly why we hired Ulysses Photography. We were so comfortable with them that we forgot about the camera and felt as though we were just on a date. They truly know how to make photos into a work of art and have been there every step of the process answering every question. We live out of state, and they rushed to have the pictures ready and set up a thoughtful reveal all in one weekend!!! Ulysses and Jenni are more than photographers – they truly are lifelong friends who capture moments to last a lifetime.

Dana + Joe had one of the coolest weddings ever. The entire day was so laid back and easy-going. This was completely in keeping not only with the beautiful Autumn season in New York, but also the fact that many of their family and friends are from the South Pacific and California. Everywhere we looked, there were open smiles, heartfelt hugs, and overwhelming joy for their wedding. Such warm energy made us so glad to be a part of the day.

When we first met Michelle + Mark, we had no doubt their wedding was going to be something very, very special.   • Chris and Kristine - Jenni and Ulysses, what can we say? You guys were the first vendors we booked for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. In the past year, you two not only became our photographers but also our friends 🙂
    During the weeks leading up to the wedding, when the two of us fell very ill and made three trips to the ER.. you reassured us that no matter what – everything will fall into place on our special day. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to see our brides & grooms again for photos as their family grows. As momentous as her arrival was, Baby Gianna took it all in stride by sleeping through the entire session. 🙂 Her parents are beaming with pride, as is her big brother, Gio. Kat + Ryan’s wedding day perfectly mirrored their own love for all things natural, beautiful, and sustainable. Their intense feelings for one another were clearly evident when they finally embraced for the first time. They remained close to one another at all times throughout the remainder of the day as they shared the gala event with those closest to them. Jen + Ben’s wedding was timeless and classic, and yet it was also so much more. There are few places as stately, romantic and palatial as Sleepy Hollow Country Club, and the ecstatic couple could feel the love of hundreds of onlookers listening to their vows to one another in front of the picturesque Hudson River view. It was such a joy not only to photograph this amazing pair, but also to see their guests genuinely engaged and involved with them throughout the day. Kristine + Chris have it ALL. They enjoy searching for, finding, and making tasty healthy food together. They love to hike and explore and keep physically fit together, all in the comfort of their awesome Vibram footwear.  Most of all, this beautiful team is absolutely devoted to making one another happy and joyful. And now their team has grown with the addition of THE cutest Australian Shepherd puppy EVER! His name is Truffles, and he’s only 8 weeks old. Kristine + Chris, along with Truffles, are something really special, and we can’t wait to see all the hand-made personal touches at their autumn wedding on a horse farm in the Hudson Valley. 🙂

Our day with Camille + Harry was filled with beauty, dreamy moments, hilarious jokes, tears of joy, and so much more. Starting the day with a private reveal, Camille saw Harry’s face light up as he watched her walking towards him. It was a perfect moment. We always love seeing a wedding day with unique personal touches because they reflect so much of the personalities of our couple. Guests enjoy those touches just as much as we do. To showcase their two cultures, the father-daughter song was a beautiful Filipino love song, and the mother-son song was a Chinese instrumental ballad. The best man, Andrew, also performed a heartfelt original song with acoustic guitar. We couldn’t have wanted a more wonderful day for them.

Weddings by nature are very emotional events. Kim + Kenny’s wedding was no exception. The night previous saw a rather terrible rainstorm, but the next day everyone’s relief was palpable as the Sun came out, and conditions were ideal for an outdoor ceremony in the lovely location of Catlin Gardens. Seeing one another for a private reveal prior to the ceremony was the perfect way to enjoy some calm romantic time together before the whirlwind day ahead. Their friends kept the day fun and light, while we were able to photograph the beauty and heartfelt interactions between Kim + Kenny along with their guests.

Dee + Drew, two of the dearest people we’ve ever met, are so full of heart and affection. It’s no wonder we wanted to be their photographers from Day 1. If you want to know what it’s like to work with us, you shouldn’t need to look any further than kind words like these from Dee:

When we booked our wedding, our wedding venue showed us various photography samples. From the moment that my husband and I saw the work of Ulysses and Jenni, we were intrigued to find out more about them. Their work stood out from all of the rest. We loved the way their photographs captured so much feeling and were portrayed in such an artistic fashion. 

 We hired Ulysses & Jenni after seeing the samples of their work and sharing words over the phone. 

 We knew within moments of meeting them (at our complimentary engagement shoot) that we had made the right decision and we never looked back. The love that they have for their profession and for one another puts a remarkable spark into every photograph that they take. They were able to make our sessions experiences that we will remember forever. 

 On our wedding day, they had an unbelievable ability to keep us calm, and stay calm themselves, while still managing to capture our very LONG list of requested photographs. They had fun with our guests and interacted with them in a way that made the photography an enjoyable part of our wedding day. 

 For many reasons, my husband and I can’t wait to begin to build our family; however, thinking about having the opportunity for maternity/family photography sessions with Ulysses & Jenni is among our top reasons 🙂

With family and friends surrounding them and sharing in the day’s excitement early on, Courtney + Anthony had the ideal start to a beautiful wedding day. Courtney made a beautiful bride as her long-time best friends kept her laughing and relaxed, while the Irish accents and jokes of Anthony’s family and water polo buddies kept us entertained. The sunset views over the Hudson River were particularly stunning, like a perfect gift to begin a complete blast of a reception party.

When asked to describe her wedding theme, Diana used words like: Bright… Sparkling… Bedazzled… Fun! Their fabulous gala event was all of that and more! Diana + Frank, along with all their family and friends, had a sensational day with unforgettable views of the Hudson River and sunset right in front them. One highlight of the evening was Diana’s reveal in her cocktail dress, bringing not only loud applause, but also the entire room to their feet and onto the dancefloor for an amazing reception party. We got to hug and say ‘hello’ to some of our favorite people and friends like Angela + James, among several others. We couldn’t have had an evening more fun than we had with this beautiful bride and amazing couple.

Westchester Magazine always throws the most exciting event parties in the area, and their Best of Westchester Party for 2013 showed why they continue to be the best. With vendors, specialists, and talent offering samples of the very best our area has to offer, this was definitely the summer event to attend. Interests ranged from amazing dining experiences for foodies, to spa and health treatments for those looking for some relaxation, to vendor services for your home or your next private party. Are you interested in checking out luxury vehicles? Several were on display so you could check out firsthand your next driving experience. Of course, there was plenty of music and entertainment to be had, too, so anyone who came ready to dance had plenty of beats by live bands and DJs to keep them happy. Did you see any celebrities at the party? We got to meet and photograph the one and only actor/comedian Bill Murray! We welcomed plenty of familiar faces, as well as met lots of new ones on the red carpet. We’re so glad to have been invited back again as the official event photographer for Westchester Magazine, and we can’t wait to join them again next year! Be there!
