Kara + Nick are the sweetest couple. We knew Kara’s mom enjoyed our work, but we didn’t realize just how much so until we received these kind words from her:

Kara and Nick were so excited on the day of the shoot. They loved working with you. They were so thrilled to see the pictures. We know what incredible work you do, but we usually are very critical of our own pictures, and they were amazed how beautiful they looked together and to see so many great shots. I am so excited for them and happy you are their photographer. After finding your website, no other photographer measured up to your work. I used all the venue sites you posted to help choose Round Hill. After I showed Kara your site the hunt was over. You and Jenni are great. Can’t wait to meet you! Thank you for the great pictures. I absolutely love them!

Mallory + Greg’s honest and caring way of treating one another, along with their genuine excitement about our photography, ensured that we would absolutely love photographing them. We cannot wait for their sumer 2013 wedding at The Garrison. In their own words, Mallory shared their thoughts about their photo shoot with us:

 Dear Ulysses and Jenni,

We had SO much fun at our engagement photography session.  We are rather shy people especially when cameras are on us, but despite only meeting you once before, you made us feel very comfortable.  By the end of the session it almost felt normal to have our pictures taken with everyone walking past, staring as we laid on a stoop to a building or put our faces through scarves that were for sale.  We never wanted it to end!

We chose the location because not only is it a beautiful place, but it is also where we got engaged 🙂  It made us feel even better about our choice because you two have been there several times and even took us to new sections you had never taken photographs in before.  Who knew there could be so many different places to take photographs in one small town!

Greg and I were very pleased with the session and how our wall art and portraits came out.  They were absolutely beautiful and we cannot wait to receive our “Save the Date” magnets so we can send them to our friends and family!  Greg and I were also very glad that you allowed us to have an outfit change so we could incorporate our Giants Jerseys and document our love for each other as well as our favorite team.

Thank you very much for everything. You two are a pleasure to work with and do an amazing job.  We cannot wait for August so we can be married and look at the beautiful pictures you will have captured from our big day.

Sincerely,

Greg and Mallory

Jamie, with her Julia Roberts smile and beauty, is one of the most vivacious and enthused brides we’ve ever met. She’s crazy about our photography! It’s no surprise that we had a complete blast with her and Jerry for their autumn engagement photos! In her own words below, she shares her impressions of their experience with us. We absolutely cannot wait for their wedding day at Catlin Gardens!

When I first met Ulysses and Jenni, I knew right away these two people were going to be the photographers for the rest of my life. They made my fiancé and I so comfortable to the point where we could talk about anything and everything. So needless to say, during our engagement photo shoot, it was so easy going and peaceful. When we finally saw the reveal at their home studio, we couldn’t believe our eyes! The way they capture every moment is mind blogging, it’s just beyond beautiful. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, thanks to Ulysses and Jenni, I can finally understand why.

Ali + Dave’s wedding was a true gala extraordinaire! Even we could barely keep up with Ali’s power walk (in her specially blinged wedding day Uggs) from her hotel room on Madison Ave. to the mansion on Fifth Ave. But everything slowed down appropriately for a private reveal so she and David could enjoy a brief bubble of quiet time together. After enjoying the tranquil views of Central Park and then stopping traffic on Fifth Avenue (drivers honked their congratulations), the rest of the day moved all too quickly. All who attended were treated to a premium experience in the spectacular spaces of the James Burden Mansion, as well as on the dance floor. We had an absolute blast with this amazing couple and their families!

Kara + Nick have a gentle warmth that simply draws everyone to them. We certainly felt the same way when we got together for their engagement photos. A beautiful autumn afternoon provided the perfect day for their date together as they strolled through the rolling fields of a favorite farm. After seeing their excitement over their photos, we’re even more eager to join them for their summer wedding at Round Hill. We got this lovely note from Kara and Nick after their session:

Dear Ulysses & Jenni,

Nick and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the beautiful photos you took of us.   You were able to capture our love & emotion for each other in the photos and created amazing artwork.

I was unsure of choosing a familiar place to do our engagement photos but we were so happy we did.  It helped ease our nerves.  It also was the first time we met you in person & we could tell that you were going to be more than just our photographers but be lasting friends.  It is very important to us to have people that care about their work & their clients.

When we received our wall art, we were blown away.  I had to hold back tears of how breathtaking they were.  We have photos to cherish for a lifetime, thanks to you & Jenni.

Love, Kara & Nick

Few things make us feel better than having clients as appreciative as Courtney and her amazing family. We’re truly humbled by the kind words she recently sent about their experience with us for their most recent Family Life session:

Dear Ulysses + Jenni,

We can’t quite put into words how much our family photo sessions mean to us. The moments you capture are moments of our daily life and that’s one of the many things we love about you guys is that it’s always real its like a story being told. There isn’t a day that I don’t find myself at least once a day “starry eyed” as I’m looking over at our artwork on the walls. It instantly puts a smile on my face.

The day they arrived I was like a child on christmas morning ripping through the box. Gently that is…..We all were so excited!

Last year I told Andrew all I need  is one large family canvas and we know how that went, and this year again I said the same exact thing and well……we all know how that worked out. 🙂

We are learning not to make a list of pictures that we may need because once we walk through your door and see all the special moments you captured, that list gets thrown right out. They are all so gorgeous.

It  feels like we have known you forever – it’s like catching up with old friends. Logan had a blast!!! We believe he thinks you were here just to run around after him and play on his swing set.

Thank You both again for making it always  fun and seem effortless. The love and passion for what you do is truly amazing. We are already looking forward to next time. Until then, wishing you both love, peace and happiness.

With Love… [Courtney + Andrew + Logan]

We knew from the moment we met with them that we wanted to be the photographers for the wedding of Kim + Chris. Their engagement session fun began as soon as we saw their LARGE canine companions, two beautiful Alaskan Malamutes, who were actually quite the ham and photo diva. We had to force ourselves to steal Kim + Chris away from them. We’re anxious for their wedding day to arrive next year at the Thayer Hotel in West Point.

While Elissa + Brian are excitedly but patiently awaiting the arrival of their first baby, Elissa wanted to make sure she’d have photos to help them remember this unique chapter in their lives. We couldn’t get enough of one of our most favorite couples and her adorable “baby bump”. We can’t wait to meet their little one very soon!  🙂

We absolutely love photographing the newborns of our previous wedding couples! Nikki + Jared have been waiting patiently for Owen to arrive. We were head-over-heels in love with him as soon as we saw him. He’s absolutely perfect. It’s a true privilege to be able to document their growing family in this way.

“Love Notes” like the one we received from Dee + Drew warm our hearts and make us grin from ear to ear. So we wanted to share their words here:

Dear Ulysses + Jenni,

From the moment we opened an album created by you, we fell in love with your vision, energy, and passion. These feelings only continued to multiply when we met you and as we planned with you throughout the year. You are both such genuine people and have been by far one of our favorite parts of our “wedding adventure.” We will speak highly of you always. Love — Dee & Drew {heart}

P.S. — We’ll be back in a couple of years… hopefully with a beautiful baby… if not, we always have Penny & Lily (meow).  🙂

We’re so happy for Kerry + Joe and their adorable bundle of joy, Baby Mackenzie. They wrote this kind note after receiving their photos:

Hi Jenni and Ulysses,

Joe and I received the pictures yesterday and oh my god could they be any more perfect. You really captured the beauty and essence of our little miracle. We definitely look forward to working with you in the future again. Thank you again for you time and patience.

Kerry and Joe

“I’m always inspired by the people we get to meet, much more so than any photographic cleverness of my own. John leaned over to give Genevieve a spontaneous kiss just to let her know what an amazing day he was having. The reflection of the setting sun in the window behind them seemed absolutely perfect for the way it symbolized the spectacular way their day was going.” — Ulysses

Susan + Drew’s intimate Connecticut wedding in the quaint town of Newtown was everything they had hoped for. The entire day’s focus was on the things and the small group of people they love the most. We were absolutely delighted to be a part of their warm, joyful day.

We always enjoy weddings in the Westchester and Hudson Valley areas, and Courtney + Matt’s was one of our very favorite. We’re thrilled that the editors of the annual Westchester Weddings Magazine felt the same way, featuring Courtney + Matt’s wedding story in the 2012 issue. If you haven’t already seen it, make sure to check it out! (P.S. — if you get a hold of the magazine, you’ll find the story on pages 88-89.)

If you enjoyed this one, then stay tuned! We’ll have more news, photos, great stories, and beautiful wedding inspiration to talk about in the 2013 issue of Westchester Weddings Magazine.

Keeping a bright, energetic four-year-old boy entertained during a photo shoot is no small feat! But Logan’s parents love him so much and enjoy playing with him daily. He’s never lacking for love and affection. Even Courtney’s grandma joined in the fun! More than just a photo shoot, it was a joyful family day for everyone, as well as for us! We love watching this little guy grow and seeing how close-knit their family is.

Susan + Drew are one of the most romantic couples ever. We were delighted to join them for an afternoon at a beautiful vineyard where they could enjoy some of their favorite things — wine, breathtaking scenery, and of course, one another. Their autumn wedding is approaching rapidly approaching, and we can’t wait to join them!

From their first look with one another before the ceremony to their heartfelt vows during the ceremony, and right on into the incredibly energetic reception, Deanna + Andrew were a true team supported by the love of their family and friends. They complement one another perfectly, and we were beyond delighted to have shared this beautiful autumn day with them.
