Courtney + Andrew + Logan found the very best day of the week to venture out to a favorite location of Logan’s for exploring, playing, walking, and enjoying the peacefulness of nature. Needless to say, following a three-year-old through the woods and around streams is definitely a workout, but it was incredibly fun and so worth it. It was an incredible privilege to capture meaningful photos for this happy family.

Another snow wedding! Amanda + William’s winter wedding had the theme of “fire & ice”. It couldn’t have been more appropriate for this twosome, who are full of passion, but who also know how to keep their composure when under pressure. Their beautiful snowy wedding day was a prelude to their honeymoon, which will take them from the vicinity of the arctic circle (hello aurora borealis!), to the volcanos of Hawaii.
The complete gallery will be available in the “Boutique” area of our main website as soon as the couple returns from their honeymoon. Until then, we’d love to hear your comments below. And please be sure to click the button to “Recommend” us to your friends!

We could not wait to see Angela + James again. Their wedding was about a year ago, and suddenly here we were photographing their awesome baby boy, Justin. Just loves to snuggle, and word has it that he’s also a huge Jets fan! He’s already getting off to a great start. 🙂
Because we’ve had such a great history with Angela + James and their families, they shared a note in their own words about why these photos are so important to them:
James and I have been together for so long, and have always talked about our future. Little did we know our future was closer than we had ever dreamed! We were so blessed to be married, buy our house, and have our son Justin, all in one year’s time. This photo shoot was our opportunity to celebrate Justin’s safe arrival, and our love for one another. We always knew we would be a family someday, and it was so special to have our photos taken for the first time. When those photos came in the mail, I nearly attacked the UPS guy (as did my dog Clarabelle) and I ripped open the packages and smiled ear to ear. They were everything I wanted and more. I was scrambling around my house with my hammer and nails, moving things around and finding the perfect spot for all these new family pictures. I can’t wait for people to come visit so they can see our new art!

Jessica + Ashlin are famous once more! We’re thrilled to see their wedding photos and story published at the Best Hudson Valley Wedding Ever bridal blog! This beautiful actress and her dashing playwright husband provided all the things we love to see in a wedding day, not the least of which was their brilliant personalities that brought a rockin’ celebratory vibe to the event from beginning to end. Make sure you check out the story. And don’t forget to leave your comments and questions there for the couple enjoy!

With a fulfilling 2011 now behind us and an exciting 2012 ahead, we’re mindful of all the wonderful couples whose paths we’ve crossed, people like Naomi + Matthew, who had one of the most memorable days of our year. Naomi posted this five-star review at WeddingWire.com about their experience with us:
Jenni and Ulysses were a wonderful addition to our wedding day. Their photos are breathless and the positive energy they brought to both our engagement session and our wedding day was unmatched. They are a truly special couple who brought so much love and comfort to our wedding day. I was so sad for the day to end, mostly because I didn’t want them to leave! The photos they took are stunning and everyone I have shared them with adores them. I feel like the two of them were more than just photographers, but that they will always remain a part of my life (I hope!)
We definitely hope to see these two again soon!

When Nicole + Matt asked us to come out and photograph their family along with their beautiful baby girl, we couldn’t wait to meet her! It was also a great opportunity to see Nicole’s parents again and get photographs of some of their favorite things — their beautiful children, Jaye’s amazing home decor skills, Mike’s classic cars, and of course their gorgeous granddaughter, Ella. In her own words, Nicole penned the warmest note describing her thoughts about our history with this amazing family and what these photos have meant for the entire family:
At every family function, my mother’s homemade photo albums always end up being taken out at the end of the night. My two sisters, mom and I are usually cuddled up on the couch laughing and talking about something funny from a family holiday or reminiscing about our beloved dog Bernie Burns. Our family pictures are such a huge part of what makes us, us. My mother has instilled in each of us the love of our family albums and the time we spend together sharing our memories while looking through them.
That being said, meeting Jenni and Ulysses has been magical for us. They photographed my wedding to my husband Matt in 2008 at Perona Farms, and when we met in person for the first time for our engagement shoot they greeted us with big hugs and made us feel so comfortable that they quickly became part of the family. At the end of our wedding, I remember actually feeling sad when they left, like saying goodbye to old friends.
Jenni and Ulysses take amazing photos without intruding on your special event. Every year on our anniversary and even throughout the year, we receive friendly e-mails checking in to see how we are doing. They are very wonderful people that are not only amazing at their job but at making you feel special, as well. It was so much fun getting to do a family shoot with them and having my daughter Ella get to meet them.

Kim + Frank are an adorable couple. We gelled with them from the very first moment we met them. Having a common love for all things healthy and natural didn’t hurt. But it was their excitement about our photography that cemented the opportunity to produce a very organic set of photos for our first session together. We can’t wait to join them for their wedding at the lovely Catlin Gardens.
Frank and I met in the spring. Our first few dates took place outside by the water, with flowers and lots of greenery. We fell in love in the summer, going to Mets games and taking long walks in the sun. Then, we got engaged above a snowy New York City in January. The only time of year left unmarked for us was autumn, so when I met Ulysses and Jenni, I immediately knew I wanted to do a fall themed engagement photo session.
My vision for the photo shoot included golden leaves and gorgeous scenery, and so we decided on a Winery as the destination for the shoot. The winery sits in a quiet, nestled haven about the Hudson River, with majestic colorful mountains in the background. As soon as we arrived at the photo shoot, I knew it was the perfect location. The day was cold and overcast, but Ulysses and Jenni inspired Frank and I to stay close together during the shoot. The romantic and quiet atmosphere allowed us to act naturally and let our love for each other come through into every shot. At the end of the shoot, Frank and I agreed that this day was our best and most romantic date since the day we got engaged.
As excited as I am for our wedding day photos, I absolutely cherish the engagement photos shot at Benmarl Winery. They reflect the love that Frank and I share for each other. At the reveal, I was so impressed with the beauty of the photography. My wall art piece hangs on my wall today, as a memory of this beautiful autumn day that Frank and I shared before our wedding.

Nicole + Mike have always been two of our biggest fans. And now we’re two of the biggest fans of their trio of gorgeous children! When you have a set of two-year-old twins along with an infant for an autumn beach outing, you know you’re in for a real treat! These photos have great importance to Nicole + Mike, and in their own words, here’s why:
Once our third child was born, Mike and I knew that we wanted to capture this very special time in our lives when all three of our children were still babies. We wanted to be sure that the portraits would capture the true feeling of our family and each of individual children’s little personalities. We knew from our wedding photos that Ulysses and Jenni would be a perfect match! We needed a studio that would be as concerned about the comfort of our children and the success of the session as we were. We also knew that we wanted art, not cute photos. We wanted this time in our family to be a permanent memory on our walls so that as our children grow we can always remember where we began. When we received the photos we were thrilled! They went directly from the box to the walls, where they will stay for years to come, just as planned!
We loved seeing this amazing twosome (now a fivesome… or a cinquesome?) again.

Blake + Joe brought all the things we like to a photo shoot, most of all a sense of closeness and genuine affection. We’re truly eager to join them for their wedding at the beyond beautiful site of the Lyndhurst Mansion. Joe took the time to send some very kind words about their experience and how he and Blake wanted to share the photos with friends:
We wanted this photo shoot to show everyone how happy we are to be engaged. We also wanted to have great pictures to use for our wedding. We wanted to use this opportunity to get comfortable with both Ulysses and Jenni taking pictures of us. We had a lot of fun with the photo shoot. This was the first time either of us had an extended photo shoot at a location. In the beginning we were a little nervous and not really sure what to do. Both Ulysses and Jenni really put us at ease and allowed us to relax, which resulted in great pictures.
We used pictures from this photo shoot to make a wedding guestbook. After receiving the book, we love the quality of the pictures and the overall quality of the book.

After our initial conversations with Erin, we were not only happily anxious to meet them for the first time, but also to show them just how much fun photography with us can be! It was a fantastic session, as this delightful couple got their “top model” on, with the outstanding NYC skyline as their backdrop. We’re really pumped about photographing their wedding at the Liberty Warehouse in 2012. Erin gave us her impressions of the photos in their own words:
When we told our wedding planner that we hated having our photos taken she immediately suggested Jenni & Ulysses. And we’re so glad she did!
Ed and I are getting married in Brooklyn but live in Hoboken. We wanted to have our engagement shots close to home and liked that Liberty State Park was on the “other side” of the water. There were so many different back drop options to work with and some of my favorite photos from the day were taken in the old train station which Ulysses introduced us to- we had no idea it was even there!
We had a great afternoon with Jenni & Ulysses- they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and we were able to just enjoy each others company. We didn’t know what to expect going into the reveal, were hoping for at least one photo for a Save the Date card and possibly a cute picture of Brady. We were just thrilled with the photos they captured and had such a hard time narrowing it down!
We actually just received the canvases and wall art last week and I just love seeing the photos hanging in our home. A great reminder of all the fun to come in the year ahead.
Thank You Jenni & Ulysses for capturing this day! ~ Erin & Ed

We’re so excited that Andrea asked us about taking portraits of their baby girl, Josie. We couldn’t wait to meet her! She was every bit as smiley and playful as we expected her to be. We love that Andrea shared with us her thoughts about what these photos mean to the family:
It was our first time taking pictures as a family, since I’m usually the one behind the camera! We really just wanted to remember this time with Josie since she’s been so cute and happy. Of course, it’s her first Christmas, too! We put her in a special winter outfit – her red Ralph Lauren coat and Ugg boots that were a gift from my mom. I especially love the photos of us on the front steps and at the park because Josie and I have spent a lot of time hanging out in both places! When the weather was warmer we would sit on the steps and watch for Joe to come home from work and, of course, we’ve taken many walks in the park. The canvas we ordered for our dining room is great – Josie noticed it right way and even pointed to it! She was smiling as I showed her all three of us: mamma, dadda and baby Josie.

Thank you, Jill! Isn’t Josie adorable?? We had a really good time with the whole family at one of their favorite places to spend time together. It’s funny how many passersby would stop an just watch us photographing while the family played together. I think they enjoyed seeing such a beautiful family simply celebrating their life together. Andrea and Joe are accustomed to being “celebrities for the day” by now after the sessions we’ve enjoyed with them. 🙂 -

Maryann + Rene enjoy a beautiful home and a life together filled with over 16 years of love and devotion. They commissioned us for an extended photo shoot that would show how in love they are, and the things they most enjoy doing together. We’re overjoyed at their reactions to the photos! Maryann shares some of their thoughts below:
Since I was a child, I have always loved looking back at family photos. It truly brings the past to life! So when Rene & I decided to put our house up for sale, we knew we wanted to remember it in a special way. You see, I wanted it to show up in photos as if it had been in a magazine! I love looking at magazine shoots of beautiful homes! And my idea was a total success!
When I first saw our house, it was in dire need of repair! It is truly an “old” house! The date was 1711!
But what I saw was this beautiful house that needed some TLC! And we were just the couple to give it what it needed! We had people pass by on the street, cheering us on as the new roof went up! Others came to our house for the first time and said “Do you realize what a beautiful home you have”! We had such wonderful encouragement!
The three fireplaces and the architecture of the mantels & one in the kitchen, so cozy! A porch we could sit on & decorate with the seasons! An old pump on the front porch! I was in love!
I saw rooms that could be formally decorated & rooms that could be decorated with a rustic flair! Being an event florist, I was in my glory! I had the best of both worlds, formal & rusticity!
Our backyard needed a solid place to entertain on, like a tumbled brick patio! We made a botanical oasis for ourselves as the years passed! We put all of ourselves into our home & spent such great times with all of our family & friends.
I still remember the first time we had a holiday party & we fixed up the basement, so the kids could have freedom to be themselves! Rene had this look in his eye as his eyes met mine in passing & I could hear him say to me “we did it”, we actually did it!
Since I so adore fashion of any textile type, it only made sense that I would want to “dress up” for each room we were being photographed in! I chose something formal to wear for our formal dining room & something casual for those rooms that were more rustic & the outdoor environment! And something in between with feathers….love feathers for those rooms in between! We had to be part of the photos too! It was such a treat to get dressed up & still be home!
We had a wonderful time being photographed by Ulysses Photography. It felt like a vacation in our own home & incredibly fun & like we were entertaining ourselves! Ulysses and Jenni were the perfect photographers for us, they helped us to feel comfortable in front of the camera & totally enjoy ourselves! We cannot thank them enough for the wonderful experience they helped us to achieve.
When we received our Canvas Wall Art, it was a fantastic feeling to hang such gorgeous photos of ourselves that we loved on our walls! When I glance at them while walking by, it’s still exciting!
When our Art Book arrived, it was the most spectacular book I have ever seen! The photos look like we are right there still! They are so sharp & crisp! Just amazing! Some of the shots we decided on that were staged bring a big smile to my face when I see them over & over!
We will treasure that day & have the memories to see forever!
It was an unforgettable day! Thank you Ulysses & Jenni!
We can’t say enough good things about this renaissance couple. Their home’s varied charm combined with Maryann + Rene’s flair for all things chic made their dream session one of our absolute greatest pleasures of the year.

Not everyone is a jumper. However, Matthew + Naomi definitely are — or more specifically Matt is a jumper, completely willing to express his exuberance and exhilaration about Naomi with fantastical feats that fly against the fundamentals of physics!! We love Naomi’s stylishly sassy expression, too. The judges of the ISPWP took notice and awarded us a placement in the Engagement Portrait category. We’re jumping with almost as much ebullience as Matt himself!
