A number of things we saw during Jacquelyn & Tom’s day truly touched us as we observed and interacted with them and their family and guests: The warmth of Jacquelyn’s mom and the deeply heartfelt expressions of her father; the extremely witty and funny comments of Tom’s best man; the affection of Jacquelyn’s sisters as they rejoiced in her happiness; the extremely high regard that everyone had for this amazing couple. And everyone was a great dancer at the reception!

With little time to spare, Jacquelyn & Tom were all for getting the best photos possible on this rather hot July day. It turned out that West Point had a concert performance scheduled at the location we’d planned to use for their photos. The crowded hillside lawn at Trophy Point was filled with the tarps and lawn chairs of early arrivals wanting to hold their places. But a nice group of people in a prime area of real estate kindly allowed us to use their spot for a mini-session to photograph this remarkable view of the Hudson Valley (THANK YOU, whoever you were!). So there they were… Jacquelyn & Tom on display during photo shoot with HUNDREDS of eyes watching them. I think they loved it. πŸ™‚

Jacquelyn & Tom, thank you so much for a day filled with plenty of laughs and romance, as well as the tasty meal. We truly enjoyed being with your family, too, some of whom we’re already well familiar with and hope to see again in the future.

Their complete gallery of photos will be available upon their return from the honeymoon. You’ll find it in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website.

  • Jenni-Ulysses Photography - Jacquelyn, I can’t tell you how much Ulysses and I enjoyed reading your note!! We’re thrilled that you’re enjoying your photos so much (and we’re sure Tom did, too, once he got home from work – poor guy!).

Check your email for all the details on how to order your album, as well as suggestions for parent photos. If I can offer any further help at all, just let me know. πŸ™‚

    Enjoy!!July 19, 2008 – 8:11 PM

  • Ulysses - Jacquelyn & Tom, kind words like these say more than we could ever describe ourselves about your day and about your enthusiasm about the photos. We couldn’t be more pleased about your excitement. Both of you worked so hard to make your day of pictures turn out so well.

Jacquelyn, you were an AWESOME bride, simply gorgeous. I wish we could photograph you every week! πŸ™‚

And Tom, your cool factor was off the charts. Couldn’t have asked for better.

We can’t wait to hear about which photos are your favorites.

Big hugs and congrats for you both. Welcome home. πŸ™‚July 19, 2008 – 7:11 AM

  • Jacquelyn and Tom - Dear Jenni and Ulysses,

What can we say, but we are reliving each moment since we jumped on the computer this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Words can not express how much each picture says, more than a 1000 words, about our special day. To start your blog which we read last night as soon as we landed in JFK and got access to a computer, was so touching and personal, LOVED IT!! The family has been dying to see the whole package!

Then I spent the whole morning on the phone with family members and computer playing through the slideshow, WOW is all that I can say…..I can not wait to show Tom as soon as he walks through the door tonight (someone has to go to work)!!!!

Then I had to pick up the mail from the post office and was pleasantly surprised when I saw a box from you guys, I ripped it open as soon as I got into the car! I am now showing Allison all the pictures! What a great proof book and I cant wait to show it all off!!!!!!!!

I am greatly anticipating the next step in our albums…..please let us know what we should be thinking about as far as pictures. We would love just one for our home and then we need 3 5x7s for the parents. They need to be horizontal since we had a frame made for each of them. I am guessing one of the ones of us with the river! Those are awesome, who would ever know there were 100 people staring at us during that shoot! You guys are amazing!

I will try to copy and paste this to your blog in a few minutes! Thanks again for everything and we will sure to be in touch for the next steps!

    All our love and gratitude,

    Jacquelyn and TomJuly 18, 2008 – 3:12 PM

  • Ulysses - Thank you, Jessica! We each worked hard for that one. It’s a rather steep walk to get to the location I’d obtained, and I was concerned about Jacquelyn in her heels. But she’s amazing and REALLY wanted that spot for photos. The results were so worth it! πŸ™‚July 10, 2008 – 3:21 PM

  • Jessica - Gorgeous infared again!!July 10, 2008 – 12:37 PM

Jasmine and Josh are very tired, but also very overjoyed that she’s finally here. She has a head full of gorgeous dark curly hair. Josh says she looks just like her mom.

Arianna weighs 6 lb, 11 oz, and she is 20 inches long. She’s just perfect.

We’ll have more later.

  • Jasmine, Josh & arianna - I just saw the pics.

Wow! I can’t believe it’s a whole two weeks! We were sooooooooo happy that u guys were there to see her come into the world. I can’t ask for a better brother and sister. Now u are going to be called “titi” and “tio”.

  • Jenni-Ulysses Photography - You better believe it! I always told her I wanted her to come out on a Monday, but that I would take Tuesday as a backup haha! Jasmine was such a trooper through a very long delivery, and Josh was right there supporting her the whole time. We couldn’t be happier for them.

We just came back from visiting, and they are all doing so well. Arianna is eating well and incredibly alert. She’s so incredibly beautiful – we’re just in love!July 9, 2008 – 7:59 PM

  • Jessica - she is adorable!!! Yeah for mid-week babies!July 9, 2008 – 2:15 PM

What could be finer on a summer afternoon than a garden wedding? That’s what Kristina & Cory decided to do for theirs, and the scene that was set for them at the beautiful Catlin Gardens was just perfect. Kristina was stunning in her elegant but detailed wedding gown. Although they were each cool & collected and having a fun time with their friends during their preparation, they were probably caught off guard by the intense waves of emotion of their ceremony. We loved seeing every minute of it unfold. After spending a brief but fantastic period of time with this fun-loving couple for photos in the romantic gardens, we joined everyone for the cocktail hour, where a steel drum band was playing calypso music. As everyone filed indoors for the reception, they enjoyed all the other unique touches of the celebration, from the beautiful handmade place cards to the homemade cookie favors in gift boxes.

Kristina & Cory, we had a remarkable time with you on your wedding day, and we’re so glad you chose us to enjoy it and capture it with you. We were blown away by all the little details that helped make your day so special and memorable. Thank you so much for the delicious multi-course meal.

We’re anxious to show you the day’s photos and are busily preparing the online gallery, which will be found soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Please leave a comment for Kristina & Cory or for us about what you enjoyed about their day!

  • Ulysses - Hi there, Amanda! We had a complete blast with you guys, too! It was such a beautiful day and a gorgeous wedding. It took us only a few minutes with each of you to realize we were going to have just as much as you were having yourselves. Kristina was simply stunning, and I know you’re going to enjoy the photos. We’ve been working to prepare the gallery, and it should go online soon. Thanks for writing! πŸ™‚July 9, 2008 – 11:43 PM

  • Amanda - I can’t WAIT to see all of the wedding photos! This was by far the most beautiful wedding I have ever been in and it was a blast too! You guys did a wonderful job and I will surely recommend your services to others! Thanks for capturing all of the memories of Kristy and Cory’s wedding!July 9, 2008 – 11:47 AM

  • Ulysses - Yes, she does! They’re simply tall, statuesque people all around and were both great to photograph. The layout of the venue really gave us lots of opportunities, too. We had a blast!

    Thanks for the kind words, Jess!July 8, 2008 – 7:30 PM

  • Jessica - love image #1! She has beautiful eyes!July 8, 2008 – 12:33 PM

Maybe this is a bit premature, but we’re really excited because we just got word a little while ago that Jasmine has gone into labor. She’s pretty tired right now, and the doctor has told her to get some rest for a couple of hours before checking on her progress again in a little while.

Jenni has her camera packed and is about to head out with Jasmine for a visit to the doctor soon.

WE CAN’T WAIT!! πŸ˜€

More news as it happens . . .

For everyone waiting for updates on our most recent weddings (especially for Kristina & Cory as well as Jacquelyn & Thomas), we’ll post those for you as soon as we’re able. Thanks for your patience.

  • Arianna’s Newborn Photo Shoot at Ulysses Photography Blog - […] Labor Has Begun!!! […]July 21, 2008 – 3:37 PM

  • Ulysses - Well, the latest update is that she’s just recently begun a new phase of labor. She ramped up relatively slowly, which is why this has taken longer than might have been expected. She has such a high tolerance for pain that she didn’t realize she was REALLY in labor until Jenni went over today and timed her contractions. We then took her straight to the hospital, where they are now monitoring her. I suspect it will be soon now.July 8, 2008 – 7:32 PM

  • Jessica - go monday!!! πŸ™‚ he he.July 8, 2008 – 12:34 PM

  • Jenni-Ulysses Photography - That’s right! She’s an obedient child already haha!! Either way, labor started on Monday, so that’ll work for me. We’re still waiting at home while she tries to get some rest …July 7, 2008 – 7:08 PM

  • Jessica - YEAY!!! Monday might actually come on a MONDAY!!! πŸ™‚July 7, 2008 – 6:34 PM

We lost a dear friend in death yesterday. Bernard was 79, but had the heart and spirit of a much younger person. Jenni and I shared some of his last moments with him in the hospital as his body simply gave out on him. He is survived by his wife, Lillian who has just as much love for life and a deep sense of spirituality as Bernard did, as well as several children who love him. He’ll truly be missed by all who know him.

Although we’ve been out of the office for the past couple of days, we’ll be back soon with updates on the latest weddings, e-sessions, and portraits. Thank you for your patience.

Someone forgot to tell us that when we’re pointing our cameras out at our couples and their guests, there will often be a camera or two pointed right back at us! LOL! At Stephanie & Matthew’s wedding we had a chance to have spend some time and have some fun with another of our favorite couples, Annie & Jason, whose wedding we photographed last year.

To our great delight, Annie has become quite the camera hound over the course of the past year. She found opportunities to get pictures of Jenni and myself.

Of course, the more excited we were about seeing and shooting one another, the more you could see it in our body language. I tend to get down low to the floor, and you’ll probably see a leg go out. Annie stands on her tip-toes, and one of her legs goes up. Here we caught one another at the exact same instant. Too funny! πŸ™‚

I’m not exactly sure, but I think I may also have inspired Jason, who now also finds his best shots by getting down on the floor and finding some fascinating angles. Go Jay!!! I’m so proud. And thanks, Annie, for getting this last shot of myself, Jenni, Steph and Matt together. πŸ˜€

In the end, it’s all about people and relationships. And we’re so glad to know these two awesome couples. Can’t wait to see you guys again at Kim & Eric’s wedding soon! Get your cameras ready! LOL!

Jenni said you would come up with something clever!! This blog is awesome and I love that you named it “AnnieCam”- Boo Yeah!!!July 3, 2008 – 6:46 PM

It’s early in the wedding season, but we’ve already had some amazing weddings. Stephanie & Matt’s wedding was definitely one of our favorites partly because we got to spend so much time with them, and also because we got to see some friends and familiar faces again.

Stephanie filled her day with superb details, from the intricate designs of her gorgeous gown to the beautiful flower arrangements and exquisite designs for the reception room tables. She was so excited about the way everything would photograph. Little details are so important.

NOTE: I forgot to mention another COOL detail. Stephanie & Matt purchased one of their favorite engagement session images for use on the cover of their wedding music CD handed out as favors to everyone at the wedding. The final cut of this CD includes a song written and performed by Matt titled “To Make You Feel My Love“. We loved it!

Of course, our favorite part of the day was when we got to go off with just the two of them for a private photo session. Steph & Matt, what an awesome job you guys did, despite the heat! We know you’re going to fall in love with the results. You looked as if you were cast for a movie or magazine spread. We loved every minute of it and hope you did, too. Thank you so much for a great day, as well as for the scrumptious meal!

Their gallery will be available very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Check it out! And please be sure to leave a comment for Stephanie & Matt or for us here on the blog by clicking the “Comments” link immediately above this entry.

More with Stephanie & Matt:

  • Ulysses - Awww, thank you so much Sharon & Jim! It was our most sincere hope that the photos would not only be memorable, but that they would make you laugh and cry all at the same time, while reflecting on the absolute beauty of their day. We couldn’t be happier for the two of them. And they were each amazing to photograph. It’s been a genuine pleasure to photograph them and to get to know the families.August 1, 2008 – 11:23 AM

  • Sharon and Jim Savarese - Just had to let you know how amazing the pictures are. Every time we look at them, we are living that day again which is great since the day went by so quickly. It has taken us this long to order pictures because it was so hard to decide. It is obvious you were everywhere and caught every moment including everytime I cried. We will cherish these pictures always along with the memories of a that beautiful day. Thank you.July 31, 2008 – 7:13 PM

  • Ulysses - LOL! Stephanie, you guys were awesome to be with again. From Jeff’s acoustical guitar during cocktail hour to the silky sounds of your amazing voice during the reception, everything about your presentation and running of the show during the party was wonderful.

Speaking of “rockstars”, did you enjoy seeing and listening to the CD of music provided by Steph & Matt to everyone? Matt is quite the talent. I hope to hear more from him in the future. πŸ™‚

    Talk to you both soon! πŸ™‚July 14, 2008 – 8:52 PM

  • Stephanie - Ulysses and Jenni, you guys are PROS. Not only da bomb to work with, you’ve got the goods when it comes to talent.

Of course, Matt and Stephanie looked great to begin with *grin*, but you made them ROCKSTARS.

Can’t wait to work with you again!

    StephanieJuly 14, 2008 – 8:41 PM

  • Ulysses - Annie & Jason! You can follow us around anytime! I’ve actually got photographer friends who have read that blog entry, and who are asking me, “how can I get an AnnieCam for myself?” LOL!

Yeah. They’re all jealous. LOL! πŸ˜€

Seriously, I know that a huge part of what makes the “magic” happen for us is when we have brides like Stephanie and yourself (and oh yeah… the grooms like Matt and Jason… can’t forget the guys) who are willing to take a few chances and do some unusual things for stunning photography. We just LOVE that. When we’re in love with the possibilities of a shoot, it pumps us up to do our very best… and then some.

Thanks for the incredibly kind words. It’s so encouraging. πŸ™‚July 9, 2008 – 11:51 PM

  • Ulysses - Steph & Matt, words don’t even describe just how happy we were for you guys. I have to admit, though, I feel almost a little bit sad that it’s over. It seems we’ve been looking forward to your day for so long, and now it’s finally come and gone in just a few short hours! It was A-MAZ-ING to see how all of your awesome details came together for the reception, too. Better than we’d even imagined. We were so happy for you guys when we saw the beauty of it all.

You guys already know that we work our hearts out for even a single stunning photo. But for the two of you, we wanted to make sure you were enjoying it just as much as we were. We’re so glad for how everything turned out in the photos.

Please pass our warmth and love on to your families. It’s not over yet. We’re looking forward to hearing about your favorites and designing your album for you.

    Hugs from myself and Jenni. πŸ™‚July 9, 2008 – 11:49 PM

  • Steph and Matt - Hi Guys,

Well once again you have outdone yourselves!! Matt and I were so excited to see the pictures that we even checked the site a couple of times from St Lucia but the internet connection was terrible so we werent able to see much. So even though we didnt get home until late Sunday night we both made sure to sit down and look through every picture before we went to bed. They are amazing – we love them and are going to have a hard time settling on which ones to choose for the album.

Thank you for making everyone feel so comfortable around the camera – it helped to make the day that much better. My parents both commented on how you cant help but smile for your pictures because you both have such a great attitude and are a pleasure to be around!!!

We will be talking to you soon.

    Steph and MattJuly 8, 2008 – 2:07 PM

  • Annie - Ok- so you all know that I am totally obsessed with Ulysses and Jenni!! You two ROCK!!!! These (once again) are amazing photos!! Stephanie and Matt are such a cute couple and you really captured some adorable (yet beautiful) shots!!! I know Matt and Stephanie are going to love them!!

The best part about all of these is how you “see” so many memorable moments- from Stephanie getting help with getting her dress ready, to sweet moments at the Mass, Mrs. Savarese breaking it down on the dance floor, Matt doing some funky dance moves- to all of those great shots with Stephanie and her family and friends. She really “worked” that dress- the dress looks awesome in so many pictures!! You go Steph!!!

Anyway, you know I could go on and on- Stunning photos! Great job Ulysses and Jenni!!July 4, 2008 – 1:00 PM

Maya finally said “hello” to the world only a few short weeks after the arrival of her cousin, Gianluca. And what a beautiful baby she is! When we arrived for her newborn session, we found her comfortably swaddled in an adorable printed jumper. Just as we were getting started, she slowly opened her eyes to see what was happening around her. Needless to say, there were more squeals of delight and anticipation coming from us than from Maya at this point. πŸ™‚

Her parents are just great with her. She loves to be warmly cuddled. She has Anna’s gorgeous almond-shaped eyes. And Jonathan rocks her to soothe her and to let her know everything is alright. A beautiful family.

Anna, Jonathan, and Maya, we were so glad to be able to share this photo shoot with you! We could barely contain our excitement for all of you. Your gallery is coming online soon in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website. Feel free to share the password access to the gallery with any of your friends and family.

More with Anna:

Melissa & Bo have been so incredibly busy working and getting ready for their upcoming wedding that it was high time they got together for a nice date together to simply enjoy some time together. We couldn’t believe how well the day worked out for them.

Both Melissa and Bo were all smiles and energy for us and wonderfully emotive. We had to WORK to keep up with Melissa because her gorgeous expressions would change so quickly. It was great! Best of all, they were really into one another, without any nervousness about showing their affection in front of the cameras. We had a fantastic time with them and can’t wait for their wedding day at the Eagle’s Nest.

Melissa & Bo, thanks for a GREAT time! You were awesome. Enjoy these preview photos while we prepare your entire gallery for you. It will be available very soon in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website.

Family time… It’s always a source of delight, especially when spending that time with my two little nephews, Malakai and Kobe. I can hardly believe how big they’re getting and how distinctive their personalities are. It truly is a little miracle to watch their growth and to experience their abundance of energy and curiosity. They remind me so much of my brother and myself when we were that age.

Here are a few pieces of our day with them and their awesome parents, Eric & Chrissy. Just click the “PLAY” button in the box below. And be sure to leave a comment if you can. πŸ™‚

Eric, Chrissy, Malakai and Kobe… we love you guys.

  • Ashtons - They do remind me of you two.

  • Ulysses - I know! Kobe is growing so much, and is big brother is getting longer and longer, too. These guys had so much energy, it felt almost as if I’d shot an entire wedding day by the time we put our cameras down. LOL! The ones where they are all bundled together are our personal faves, as well as the absolute faves of Chrissy, too. Thanks! πŸ™‚June 28, 2008 – 7:46 AM

  • Jessica - Kobe is so BIG!!!! wow! What cuties. Your bother looks just like you…but I guess he should right? πŸ™‚ Looks like these two have a LOT of energy as well as boys do. Great family series with them hugging. Those were my favorites.June 27, 2008 – 12:58 PM

Kim & Ray are an incredibly warm and friendly couple. Although married now for a few years, they didn’t have a chance to have wedding portraits taken. So we were delighted when Kim called and asked if we would photograph the two of them as if for their own wedding day. She looked lovely, dressed in a long white gown and with her hair styled and makeup done. Ray cut a powerful figure in his all-black attire. We needed to run between the raindrops on occasion, but that only added to the fun and surprise of the day. Ray loves his Harley motorcycle. He wasn’t able to bring it with him for the shoot, but they had a small addition of clothing when they each added their biking vests. What a blast! πŸ™‚

Kim & Ray, thanks for choosing us for your special photo session. We wish the absolute best for the two of you in your future together.

  • Ulysses - Thanks, Jess! This was a really sweet couple. And the photo shown here was one of their favorites, particularly with this treatment. I love it, too. πŸ™‚June 28, 2008 – 7:44 AM

  • Jessica - awww this is just two sweet. Lovely classic portrait as well.June 27, 2008 – 12:55 PM

Grace_w317The hardest part of Grace & Michael’s stunning wedding was when we had to leave. So many things came together throughout the entire day that made it an absolute joy to photograph. Grace gave careful consideration to how everything (and we mean EVERYTHING) would impact photography. From the very beginning of her planning, Grace & Mike put an extremely high priority on photography, and we couldn’t have been more satisfied with the results.

This awesome couple gave us an incredible degree of access and time, guaranteeing an amazing range of looks into their day. We even had a couple of private sessions with them – including Grace’s change from her gorgeous wedding gown into an incredibly beautiful custom Chinese dress – for some drop-dead romantic photos. Both their parents and their wedding party were just as excited about the prospects for photos, so working with everyone was pure joy. We even got to work some fashionable fun for both the guys and the girls during the day.

Grace & Michael, what can we say? From the time weΒ first met, we loved being with both of you! We are so glad you loved what we did then, and that you chose us for your own wedding! The warm welcome by your family and friends topped it off for us. You each did such a great job during your photo sessions. The time you gave us for your photos was so well worth it. We can’t wait to show them to you! Also, thank you for the delicious meal.

The gallery will be made available when Grace & Mike return from their honeymoon, in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. But for now, here is a small teaser for you to enjoy. Click on the “PLAY” button in the box below.

More withΒ Grace + Mike.

  • Ulysses - She has, Mike. She HAS! But that’s okay, you know we love giving her attention. Still, the burning question has been: When we are going to hear from MIKE again? LOL πŸ˜‰

Right now we’re in the midst of our heaviest shooting month. August usually isn’t this packed with weddings, but 2008 has been quite different. And album orders are beginning to roll in from the weddings of previous months. We were really glad to see your selections come in, as it was one of our absolute favorites this year due both to its beauty, as well as to the great variety of visuals throughout the day.

Thanks for the privilege of letting us provide some guidance in the album process, too. We don’t take your trust for granted. We want it to be absolutely the best book possible, filled with beauty, emotion, style, and a story-telling flair that you’ll be proud of for the rest of your lives (wow… that sounds like a heavy responsibility when I put it that way, but we’re up to it!). I know you’ve both made rock-solid choices. But if we see something that lends and adds to the flavor of the day, we’ll let you know about it.

Mike, I have to tell you, too: We’ve been totally in love with your parents, too. All of them have been such heartfelt and HUMOROUS people, making it a joy to communicate with them and enjoy this entire process along with you. I truly hope we get to see them and work with them in the future. πŸ™‚August 7, 2008 – 2:50 PM

  • Mike - I feel like Grace has been monopolizing communication with you two, which just isn’t fair. So first, I just wanted to say a quick “hello, how ya doin?”

Second, I wanted to let you know how great it feels to pass on the rest of the album design to you. When I told my mom that we were asking you to take over choosing photos and designing the album for us, I thought she’d be shocked that we were willing to let go of control of our wedding album. But we’ve raved so much about you guys, and she so loves the photos herself, that she totally understood.

Sending in our album order was such a huge weight off our chests, not only because cutting out photos was a painful experience and we just couldn’t do it anymore, but also because we know that whatever you decide to do, it will be amazing. We can’t wait to see the finished product (in large part because it will give us an excuse to write you again)!August 7, 2008 – 1:06 PM

  • Ulysses - Mike, thank you for further describing how your pictures make you FEEL. I know over time I’ve come to feel the same way about photographs in general. Great photos really do accrue in value with time. We work hard to try to tell mini-stories in a lot of our photos. A single moment captured can manifest so many little things upon review.

And just think… if you feel this way while looking at one photo at a time, you’re going to love what happens when you see them displayed in album format. It’s a completely different phase of this ongoing process.

We’re really glad to hear from you again, and we can’t tell you what it means to us to get this sort of great feedback. πŸ™‚July 18, 2008 – 10:33 PM

  • Mike - Grace is definitely beating me in our battle to see who can view the photos the most. It’s frustrating being at work and only being able to sneak a peek at a photo or two every once in a while. Grace seems to have no compunction about this.

In any case, limited though my viewings have been, I feel like I notice new things each time I am able to take a peek, and though I wouldn’t think it was possible, considering how much I loved them when I first saw them, I’m enjoying the photos more and more.July 18, 2008 – 6:42 PM

  • Jenni-Ulysses Photography - Grace, we love your new ritual! πŸ™‚ I can’t tell you how much we’ve enjoyed your blog posts and emails. We can totally feel your excitement and joy over your pictures, and that is the greatest joy for us. You two were a dream to photograph.

    And I’m so glad Eeyore is ok! I agree – champagne baths don’t hurt anyone. πŸ™‚July 16, 2008 – 10:00 AM

  • Grace - These late night comments are starting to become a regular ritual for us. πŸ™‚ I just wanted to let you know that I spent the last couple of hours looking through the first third of our photos, and am just so happy! I feel like I’m reliving the wedding day again!

And don’t worry, Eeyore’s ok. Who doesn’t like a champagne bath? Even Eeyore enjoys champagne baths every once in awhile.July 16, 2008 – 2:05 AM

  • Ulysses - Mike, we’ve been holding our breaths for the past day or so. “AMAZING” was exactly the goal we were shooting for.

But seriously, that word applies to the two of YOU. There was so much that fed our creativity throughout the day, and we couldn’t have been happier with the results of every segment of it.

Poor Eeyore! I suppose with every amazing task, there must be something sacrificed. LOL! πŸ˜€July 13, 2008 – 1:42 AM

  • Grace - We just finished looking at the photos. Grace got so excited she spilled her champagne all over our desk, possibly ruining the behind of a stuffed Eeyore.

The photos were AMAZING!!! We feel like we just relived our wedding day.

  • Mike and Grace - Jenni and Ulysses,

What can we say? These pictures are gorgeous! We can’t wait to see the entire gallery. We just got back from our honeymoon (half an hour ago), and checking your blog was the first thing we wanted to do. We have checked at every hotel we stayed at in Tahiti, but weren’t able to see the the photos. We read the blog entry multiple times (in multiple locations), and it made our day each time we read it–we were really touched by everything you wrote, and especially agreed with the hardest part being saying goodbye to you two. Throughout the honeymoon, we couldn’t help but think of you two whenever we took any pictures (and we took a lot!)–especially when the cruise photographer told us to kiss for the camera, and we remembered to linger. We were depressed to be leaving Tahiti, but finally being able to see the pictures after 2 weeks of anticipation was the light at the end of our tunnel.

For both of us, your arrival at our doorsteps was exciting and reassuring–as if we were greeting old friends. Throughout the entire day (and for days after), our parents and bridal party couldn’t stop raving about how great you two were and how much fun the pictures at the park were!

Although we’ve only met you a handful of times, it was obvious from the beginning that you’re both really special people. We hope that it won’t be too long before we have the chance to see you again!!

    Love,
    Grace and MikeJuly 11, 2008 – 3:03 AM

We love spending time with a couple to take beautiful portraits that showcase their affection and passion for one another. Julie & Swaroop, whose day was spent largely on the site of Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown, were one such couple who had no difficulty at all producing some gorgeous “Magazine Cover” opportunities for elegant fashion during their photo shoot. It’s part of who they are, and we loved every minute of it as much as they did.

But then there are also the little moments. . . times during the day that are so fleeting and yet so precious that you don’t ever want to forget them just because they lasted only a split second. Finding these and putting them on display for our couples is a virtual obsession for us, and we enjoy them just as much as the dedicated portrait sessions. Moments like these provide a cherished window into who our couples are and how they truly feel about one another.

More from Julie & Swaroop:

Two words immediately come to mind: Simply amazing.

Lilline & Evan’s wedding day had finally arrived. We were just as eager in anticipation as their families to see how beautiful the day would be, and it did not at all disappoint. Lilline waited for Evan in the garden area of The Manor in West Orange. As he walked up the steps and laid his eyes on his bride for the first time that day, Lilline’s eyes filled with tears of joy and excitement. It was the perfect way to begin their day of joy and elegance. After they had some private time together, we had a stunningly beautiful photo session with them, and couldn’t have been happier with the results.

Lilline & Evan, thank you so much for the day we spent with you. You’re each very special people to us. It was also a privilege getting to know your parents and your family & friends. It was easy to see just how close all of you are, and we were so happy to be welcomed by everyone.

We’re eager to show off this amazing wedding gallery! It will be available soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. And please leave a note for them or for us by clicking on the “Comments” link at the top of this blog entry! We’d love to hear from each of you.

For now, click the “PLAY button in the box below to enjoy a brief set of teaser images:

  • Ulysses - Lilline, we are positively OVERJOYED at how beautiful wedding was. And we are both ecstatic over your photos. When we get back to the office, we can hardly wait to see what we’ve captured, and once we saw what we’d envisioned for your photos and now actually realized, we knew you were going to go crazy over them. You and Evan were just amazing. We’re so glad you’re as in love with the photos as we are.

If you can EVER find a way to grab us for your portraits, or for your own growing family in the future, please, PLEASE let us know. You know we’d do it in a heartbeat. πŸ™‚

And a sincere THANK YOU for the awesome meal that was served to us at The Manor. It was oh-so-yummy! We truly enjoyed ourselves there with you.June 25, 2008 – 1:29 AM

  • Lilline Senet-Adler - WOW WOW WOW!

The photos are beyond beautiful. All the little moments and looks that you caught on our guests faces were awesome to see. Even more than the incredible photos that really captured the feelings of the day…all of our family and friends kept telling us how much they loved the two of you. Everyone thought you were so fun and professional throughout the wedding which made us really happy and the pictures more meaningful. Thank you!! We’re trying to think up more special occasions so we can have another photo session with you both! We hope you got to eat something as it seems you did not stop taking photos for even a second during the night.

    With sincere appreciation,

    LillineJune 23, 2008 – 9:15 AM

  • Ulysses - Thank you so much for the awesome words, Juliet! That canopy arc of roses stretched from the beginning of the aisle all the way down to the front of the ceremony area. What’s amazing is that Evan mentioned to me that the flowers had come into bloom only the week or so before their wedding, providing an unexpected and incredibly beautiful compliment to their wedding decor outside. A few of the roses had even dropped a few petals onto the brick aisle for an added touch of elegance. They couldn’t have planned it any better. πŸ™‚

Speaking of flowers, we were also very impressed with the orchids and decor provided by Upscale Floral Designs. Beautiful samples.June 18, 2008 – 8:57 PM

  • Juliet - Beautiful infrared images! love the canopy of flowers. Great photography all around! They will be so happy.

    πŸ™‚June 18, 2008 – 2:40 AM

  • Ulysses - Hi there, Jessica! The venue was splendid to shoot. It was much larger than we expected, which was great. It gave us plenty of options to walk around with both the bride & groom, as well as with the wedding party later on. Fortunately, we had nearly perfect weather for some IR work, too! Lilline & Evan are each big fans of IR, so we shot some during their private session, as well as during the ceremony. We had an absolute blast with them.

    Thanks for the kind words! πŸ™‚June 17, 2008 – 11:53 PM

  • Michelle Bacon - I felt so honored to be a witness to the two of you being married! I miss you both already and hope that you are having a relaxing honeymoon. I can’t wait to see all of the pictures from the wedding! The sky couldn’t have been more blue, and the day was beautiful just like the two of you!June 17, 2008 – 11:28 PM

  • Jessica - lovely images-looks like a very nice venue to shoot in as well!

got to run-but just wanted to say your IR looks amazing from this shoot as well!

    hugs,

The time flies by SO quickly! We can hardly believe it, but little Alexander is already 12 months old! It seems that every time we see him, he changes so much both in his looks and in his rapidly developing personality. And what a complete ham, too!

Alexander enjoys the camera and taking photos. He really digs pushing his cart around the house and can’t wait to ride his new toy Harley. On hot days like the day of his 12-month photo session, he couldn’t wait to get into his swimming pool. He got the most curious look on his face when he found a frog there.

But of all the things that Alex enjoys most, it’s spending time with his parents, Jesyca & Bill. They’re each so incredibly fortunate to have one another.

The entire gallery of Alex’s most recent photos will be available very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. We love hearing from our readers, so please leave a comment.

We’re so glad you’re continuing to enjoy what we do, and that we’ll have the chance someday soon to produce the same for you and Frank! πŸ™‚June 28, 2008 – 7:49 AM

  • Andrea - You TWO amaze me all the time!!!! MAKES ME WANT A BABY RIGHT NOW!! Can’t wait for my kids sessions. Not for anything, but Alexander is just the most precious looking baby ever! The pool picture is great but the picture of him sitting looking up at the camera just melted my heart. Must be so much fun to work with a couple so many times and get to know them and their baby. The bond we are all able to create with you both, just has no words. I love these pictures. They really put a huge smile on my face!

Despite the heat wave this past weekend, Jessica & Stephen had the most beautiful wedding at The Eagle’s Nest. Jessica was full of tears of joy and excitement as she spent the morning preparing herself with her friends and bridesmaids. When ready, Jessica looked amazing. She nervously walked out to the shady hill where Stephen was waiting to see his bride-to-be for the first time that day. It was the most tender moment imaginable, and you could tell that they felt truly complete again. The rest of their day couldn’t have gone more smoothly.

We first met Jennie’s parents at Maureen & Andy’s wedding at Onteora Mountain House a few years ago. We hit it off so well with them, and we were so excited when Jennie called to tell us that she was now getting married.

It took literally only seconds for us to begin getting fun and engaging photos of Jennie & Kevin. We had every bit as much fun as they had with one another. They are a couple with lots of laughs, affection, and style. We know their wedding at The Mansion At Timber Point is going to be amazing.

We love hearing back from our couples. A response like Heather’s is why we work so hard:

Hello, hello, hello!!! It’s so funny not to have spoken with you guys in a while since when we were in wedding mode. We were in constant communication!!! We just wanted to say….WOW!!!! Our album is absolutely AMAZING!!!! We LOVE it!!! You captured our day like we only could have imagined in our dreams!!! The story it told, the life in every picture…absolutely breathtaking!! We are blown away!! Our families absolutely fell in love as well!!! (they do keep teasing me though, because I put on the white gloves every time I take it out!!!) Thank you for all your hard work….we are speechless! It’s beautiful!!

With Love,

Heather & Tom

More about Heather & Tom:

Welcome to the Chateau HathornChateau Hathorn, a lovely venue in Warwick, NY, recently invited us to photograph one of their premium events, a wine tasting dinner. As it’s one of our favorite places to dine and spend time, we were more than happy to take photos for them. The Chateau Hathorn also offers a full bed & breakfast service, so we photographed the rooms for their upcoming revamped website. We can’t wait to see how the new site turns out for them.

We watched the smiling guests arrive, and then all were all shown to their tables so the program could begin. What followed was the most enjoyable six-course meal you could imagine. Sandra’s excellent preparation and attention to detail was clearly demonstrated throughout the evening. This particular tasting was Chilean-themed, so she had researched Chilean food and wine, and then owner/chef Dolph prepared an authentic Chilean feast. Each course brought huge smiles of delight to our faces as we enjoyed the incredible tastes and aromas, and as we followed Sandra’s instructions on how to properly sample the wine.

In-between courses, we’d continue photographing the event. So here are a few photos for our readers to enjoy some of the evening along with us:

A huge thanks and congratulations goes out to Sandra for such a successful evening. And to Helene & Dolph, we are truly privileged to know and work with you. It was an amazing evening at the Chateau. Fine food, excellent wine, first-rate service, beautiful scenery, and great conversation all contributed to a memorable evening. To find out about future wine tasting dinner events, be sure to contact Chateau Hathorn and ask to be placed on their mailing list.

It’s not every day that you get to do a maternity session with your closest friends. Jasmine is like a sister to me, so I’ve been watching her belly closely to see when it was time to photograph it. She and Josh are warm and loving people, and little Arianna is going to have the very best parents. Ulysses and I can’t wait to meet her, and we have our hospital bag packed and ready for the day. πŸ™‚

In fact, every time I see her, I tell Arianna she needs to come out on a Monday, so that I can definitely be there. Jasmine likes to say that Arianna is going to come out thinking her name is Monday … Enjoy the photos, and please feel free to leave your comments for us or for the expectant parents.
