What a gorgeous wedding day Kerri and Nick enjoyed! You simply could not have asked for better weather in the middle of April than 79 degrees and sunshine! That made for the perfect backdrop for a day full of family, friends, and lots of laughter. The church was packed with hundreds of people as Kerri and Nick said their vows to each other.
Kerri and Nick don’t stand on tradition, so after the ceremony we headed to a nearby restaurant for clams on the half shell in honor of Kerri’s dad - it was his favorite place to eat. We then went to the scenic Hoboken waterfront for pictures, after which the party continued all evening at the Hyatt Morristown. Kerri and Nick, we hope you’re having a wonderful time now on your honeymoon!
Please enjoy the preview slideshow while we prepare the rest of the online proof gallery. It will be available soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Feel free to leave your comments here for us or for Kerri & Nick by clicking on the “Comments” link at the top of this blog entry.
Recently we were invited and accepted as members of the ISPWP (International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers). We couldn’t be happier about it! For a number of reasons, organizations like this are important for you to know about.
We have always encouraged the thought that you should not compromise when it comes to your choice of photography style, beautiful images, or the customer service you receive. After the wedding day, your wedding album becomes your first family heirloom. Excellent photography only increases in value over the years. So we know that while choosing a photographer can be overwhelming, you deserve a photographer that will give you confidence in your selection.
The ISPWP was formed by professional photographers with the following goals in mind:
- Promote and showcase the talents of their members
- Provide a resource for clients to find the best photographers in the business
- Maintain high standards of membership in the areas of experience, professionalism, quality, integrity and customer service
- Collaborate and share ideas to push the industry forward
Many of the members are personal friends and colleagues of ours, so we are very proud to be counted in their number. Make sure you check out this excellent and easy-to-use site. Enjoy the images and the inspiration there. And then give us a call! We’d love to talk about how our photography can add to the joy of your wedding experience.

There are lots of bridal blogs out there. But I have to say that one of the most impressive and stylishly-created resources available for brides is the Style Me Pretty site. When I first saw it, I was so excited to see their depth of coverage on various topics like choosing your color palette, unique fashion and presentation, how-to ideas, paper goods, inspiration boards, and so many other areas related to your wedding. Another great feature is their Little Black Book, an exlusive “one-stop source for the best wedding vendors in your city.” Ulysses and I are especially honored and totally excited to have been selected for inclusion in their short list of photographers for the Lower Hudson Valley of New York.
The Style Me Pretty site is also listed in Martha’s Circle, which is Martha Stewart’s own short list of favorite blogs to visit. If you’re looking for some of the very best photographers, vendors, or inspiration for your wedding, Style Me Pretty is definitely the place to visit! Keep them bookmarked in your browser or news reader.

Rachel & Ross had the perfect wedding day. The incredible Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, overjoyed and smiling parents, a super fun wedding party, and plenty of opportunities for amazing photography all came together for a joyous celebration. It’s all there in their lovely wedding album, which is heading out for its new home with them today.

Thank you so much, Rachel & Ross. It’s not only your NAMES that we love, but we loved spending the day with you and creating this album for you. We know it’s going to bring back many great memories. Hugs for the puppies!
Jamie and Paul had a spectacular wedding day. Not even the rain could dampen their excitement. We love the rain, too, because early showers usually mean the best light for photos is going to come later in the day. That’s exactly the way it turned out for their day, with incredibly dramatic storm clouds setting the backdrop for our photo session with the two of them. We’re so proud of the way their album has come together.

Jamie & Paul, thank you SO MUCH for the time you spent with us for photos. It was absolutely invaluable to the quality of the striking images we were able to create together. We can’t wait for you to see your wedding album!
Andrea & Frank were the amazing couple that closed out our 2007 wedding season with a fabulous December wedding at the mansion estate of Skylands Manor. We knew from our very first meeting that Andrea would be a beautiful bride that we had to photograph, and that together she and Frank would be people who would always be very special to us. She recently sent the following note, which touched our hearts so much that we just had to share:
How are you? How is Ulysses??? How is everything? Before I get into my question, I just needed to tell you that I look at my pictures every day, and every day that I look at them I love you guys more and more and I just wanted to thank you again from the bottom of my heart for capturing the most amazing pictures on my wedding day. I have come to realize I am a girl of many expressions, and I find that cool
Now to my question, I am in a huge conflict with myself and I really can’t pick out my Thank you’s. You guys make it impossible to choose
So, here are the ones I am torn between, and let me know if you have any suggestions, as well.
Andrea

Aren’t they the coolest couple?? Andrea’s final choice was the gorgeous image seen at the top of this blog entry. It’s one of our absolute favorites from their day because of its warm romantic mood and because of the inspiration from classic films of decades gone by. Click it to see it in better detail!
Andrea, you and Frank are, quite simply, amazing people. You inspire us with your passion for one another. We’re incredibly honored to know that you follow our blog regularly to keep up with the latest happenings with Jenni and myself.
We had such a good time photographing Vivian and Anna’s maternity sessions! And it’s the first time we’ve photographed two sisters for their maternity sessions. Both of them extremely beautiful, we loved the way their individual personalities played out during the photo shoot. So we wanted to share a few more images from their incredibly fun day of shooting.
Just click the PLAY button in the box below to begin the brief slideshow.
I honestly didn’t know where to begin choosing - we loved so many of their photos. But there will be LOTS more beauty and fun to be enjoyed in their complete galleries, available soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website.
We couldn’t believe it when we heard that Anna was pregnant at the same time as her sister, Vivian! She’s only about a month behind Vivian. So when we made plans for Vivian & John’s maternity session, we knew we had to have a maternity session for Anna & Jonathan, as well. This was going to be an incredible day of shooting!
Anna met us at Vivian & John’s home, and she brought along with her a few really cute changes of clothing so we’d have some fun and variety with the session. Not that it was needed - she and Jonathan are a complete blast together and made the shooting so much fun. They kept changing it up for us and were completely uninhibited in front of the camera.
Anna & Jonathan, we captured so many different looks for you, and I think you’re going to be completely blown away by how gorgeous you look. It was a complete joy to photograph the two of you again. I’ll be placing up another teaser to show a random selection of images from the entire day of shooting. Look for it soon!
Anna & Jonathan’s entire gallery will be available shortly in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Stay tuned!

I can’t tell you how excited we were about getting together with Vivian & John again. Their wedding was among our most memorable from a couple years ago, and we were so happy when they asked about our photographing Vivian’s maternity session. John and Vivian were both there to greet us with warm hugs. Even their Labradors were enthused to see us!
Their lovely home served as the backdrop for all of our shooting. We could hardly believe Vivian has only another month to go before delivering their baby boy. She’s in great shape and feeling well, with the same beauty and grace that we loved about her from the time we first met them.
Vivian & John, we are so incredibly thankful to know you, and we share in the joy of your growing family. You both did a wonderful job. It felt just like old times photographing you again. I wanted to put up a quick teaser photo for you while I work on the rest of your gallery images. I’ll have a few more images from the day posted on the blog soon, so keep your browsers pointed here! The complete gallery will be available soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. We can’t wait to show you!

The Schmicks were enjoying a few days with their children and grandchildren. Since everyone was together in one place, they called and asked if we would photograph their family portraits. We were more than happy to join them! We took advantage of the beautiful light and scenery at their lovely ranch-like spread before moving indoors for some individual family groupings.

We came highly recommended to them by the owners of Chateau Hathorn (a beautiful wedding venue, restaurant and bed & breakfast that you should definitely check out - the food is INCREDIBLE), who have known the Schmicks for years. We are so appreciative when others spread the word about us!
It’s been just marvelous getting to know Jesyca & Bill over the past couple of years. We’ve had the opportunity to photograph their wedding, and then document their growing family from pregnancy and into little Alex’s first year of life. Part of the richness of our experience is getting to know their families, as well. So when Bill’s mother, Lorraine, called and asked us to come and take her family’s portraits, we jumped at the opportunity. Each of these folks is so down-to-earth that it was a real treat seeing them all again. And we just know that Lorraine’s mom is going to absolutely love the surprise gift of portraits of all her kids and grandkids!

I don’t know how we forgot to mention this one. We got a really cool thumbs-up from the publishers of Wedding Blog Awards, a site “dedicated to finding and promoting valuable wedding blogs; be they bride blogs, groom blogs, or wedding vendor blogs.” They found our blog and spied the photo on the left from Kimberly & Eric’s engagement session, and awarded it Photo of the Week. We were honored because it’s also one of Kimberly & Eric’s own favorites (as well as one of our own). Along with the award, they commented:
There are so many great photos, along with great web design that makes visiting this site a pleasure! Don’t forget to subscribe to their blog.
So we’re having a sort of belated celebration by sharing just a few more photos from their awesome engagement session. We’ve known Kimberly for a few years now (having photographed several of her friends’ weddings). So as you can imagine, we’re jazzed about getting together again with this exciting couple for their wedding at the beautiful Catlin Gardens later this year.
