As important as florists are to every wedding, they very often stay behind the scenes, allowing the attention and focus to stay on the blooms the florist has carefully arranged for the special occasion. So it’s not every day that we get to photograph the people who are responsible for such lovely creations! Ulysses and I had the opportunity to photograph Maryann Dawson, the owner and floral designer of Flowers on the Porch. We’ve had the privilege of working several times with Maryann, and we’re always immensely impressed with her gorgeous bouquets and floral designs, as well as her sunny disposition.

When we asked her to put an arrangement together for this photo shoot, she made it all look so effortless. I know. I later pretended to put my own arrangement together when I got home.
