Wedding Day Tip
Brides, don't be afraid of the rain! This capture shows that even a rainy day can be beautifully picturesque. The range of textures in the umbrellas and the swarm of people around the bride to help her out of the limo just add to the excitement.
We made this photo black and white to leave just the feeling and emotion. I just love everything about it! Even the texture of her Vera Wang gown seems to sparkle and shimmer.
The wonderful thing about rain is that it leaves everything fresh and clean, but often doesn't stick around for long. It can also make for some dramatic skies and cloud formations. When we did their formal photos later in the day, the sky opened up and gave us the most spectacular background. So rain can leave behind unique skies that can't be found on an ordinary sunny day.
This photo is also special because it shows one of our favorite wedding planners at work, doing what she does best. Debra Thompson of Weddings by Debra did a phenomenal job making sure everything went smoothly. She worked tirelessly that day, and the couple were so happy with the results.
This autumn wedding at The Garrison was a true delight. Afterward, we got the sweetest note from the couple while still on their honeymoon! They said: "We are having a blast in Maui and just got the call from home that our blog was ready! We couldn’t wait to see the photos and although we knew they would be stunning–they are beyond our highest expectations. All Paul could say was “oh MY God”!! They really captured how we were feeling on our wedding day."
