Kim + Frank are an adorable couple. We gelled with them from the very first moment we met them. Having a common love for all things healthy and natural didn’t hurt. But it was their excitement about our photography that cemented the opportunity to produce a very organic set of photos for our first session together. We can’t wait to join them for their wedding at the lovely Catlin Gardens.

Frank and I met in the spring.  Our first few dates took place outside by the water, with flowers and lots of greenery.  We fell in love in the summer, going to Mets games and taking long walks in the sun.  Then, we got engaged above a snowy New York City in January.  The only time of year left unmarked for us was autumn, so when I met Ulysses and Jenni, I immediately knew I wanted to do a fall themed engagement photo session.  

My vision for the photo shoot included golden leaves and gorgeous scenery, and so we decided on Benmarl Winery in Marlboro, NY as the destination for the shoot.  The winery sits in a quiet, nestled haven about the Hudson River, with majestic colorful mountains in the background.  As soon as we arrived at the photo shoot, I knew it was the perfect location.  The day was cold and overcast, but Ulysses and Jenni inspired Frank and I to stay close together during the shoot.  The romantic and quiet atmosphere allowed us to act naturally and let our love for each other come through into every shot.  At the end of the shoot, Frank and I agreed that this day was our best and most romantic date since the day we got engaged.  

As excited as I am for our wedding day photos, I absolutely cherish the engagement photos shot at Benmarl Winery.  They reflect the love that Frank and I share for each other.  At the reveal, I was so impressed with the beauty of the photography.  My wall art piece hangs on my wall today, as a memory of this beautiful autumn day that Frank and I shared before our wedding.

Blake + Joe brought all the things we like to a photo shoot, most of all a sense of closeness and genuine affection. We’re truly eager to join them for their wedding at the beyond beautiful site of the Lyndhurst Mansion. Joe took the time to send some very kind words about their experience and how he and Blake wanted to share the photos with friends:

We wanted this photo shoot to show everyone how happy we are to be engaged. We also wanted to have great pictures to use for our wedding. We wanted to use this opportunity to get comfortable with both Ulysses and Jenni taking pictures of us. We had a lot of fun with the photo shoot. This was the first time either of us had an extended photo shoot at a location. In the beginning we were a little nervous and not really sure what to do. Both Ulysses and Jenni really put us at ease and allowed us to relax, which resulted in great pictures. 

We used pictures from this photo shoot to make a wedding guestbook. After receiving the book, we love the quality of the pictures and the overall quality of the book.

We were already well acquainted with Tammy + Mark after photographing the wedding of Evelyn + Michael. But there’s nothing like getting to know our couples better by running off with just the two of them for a beautifully relaxing “Date Day” and photographs. Tammy + Mark are a perfect match for the way we love to photograph, with their gentle and humorous personalities. The smiley faces on their balloons seemed to echo the warmth and fun of their session. We enjoyed walking through a lovely vineyard with its uniquely outstanding views of the Hudson Valley. The butterfly-shaped ears of their Papillon, Dasher, were raised in excitement as if he knew this was a special day. We can’t wait for their wedding to arrive and look forward to joining them at the New York Institute of Technology’s beautiful De Seversky Mansion.

Keri & Todd love wine. In fact, the very day they got engaged, they’d visited a winery. So it was a perfect fit to take their engagement photos at a lovely local winery. The rich scents of wine and oak added to the romantic flare of our session. We loved showing them just how enjoyable a session like this could be, and they were just as excited with the results as we were! We can’t wait to join them for their wedding day at the magnificent Castle on the Hudson.

What a fabulous way to close out our 2010 wedding season! Angela & James exuded old Hollywood glamour. Angela was positively breathtaking in her designer gown, and James was the picture of cool confidence. Their affection and attraction for one another kept us eagerly clicking our cameras all day long. We just love seeing a couple so connected as these two.

We’ll be vacationing at the same time as Angela & James will be on their honeymoon, but we wanted to leave a preview for everyone to enjoy while we’re away. Ada & James are a truly special pair. We instantly fell in love with this lovely couple from Day #1 of our first getting together with them. But how could you not? Ada is such a cool person to be around, and she was drop-dead gorgeous, marvelously statuesque in her wedding gown; and Jim has such an engaging, friendly way about him that you can’t help but want to hang with him for the day. They chose to see one another before their ceremony, producing some of our personal favorite photos from the day. Jim was clearly amazed by how stunning Ada looked! With the joy of their friends and family surrounding them, the bright summer day was positively filled with warm hugs and tears of joy. The beautiful setting of the vineyards and grand view of the Hudson Valley put everyone into a romantic party mood. Simply put, the day could not have been more perfect for such a wonderful couple. Ada & Jimmy, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day!

We’re busy developing the photos from Ada & Jim’s outstandingly beautiful wedding. They’ll be ready soon, but until then we wanted to share at least one gorgeous teaser from the day. Keep your browsers pointed here, as there will be much more to come.

I can’t even describe how excited I was when my beautiful hair stylist, Ada, told me she was engaged! But when Ada and Jim chose us as her photographers, that put my excitement over the top.  It only got better when we got together for their engagement session. Meeting Ada’s adorable daughter, Katie, was also a a privilege.  We know their wedding at Benmarl Winery this summer is going to be an event to remember.

We first met Allison & Dan several years ago when we photographed Dan’s brother’s wedding.  We then met up again last year when we photographed Allison’s sister’s wedding.  So you can imagine how excited we were when they called us up to photograph their own!  We can’t wait for their wedding day this July at Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs. It’s going to feel like a big family reunion for us.

Even though the day of their engagement session was freezing cold, we found some relief in the basement of a very cool winery  and were able to create some amazing art pieces for them.
