Do you ever get tired of hearing how wonderful you are??  If so, I apologize in advance for fluffing your ego even more with this email….

I no longer have enough fingers or toes left to count the number of people who have called, emailed, texted, or literally stopped me face to face to tell me how amazing the wedding was and how absolutely stunning our photos are.  People have gone so far as to say that they are the most incredible images they have ever seen.  To each and everyone of these friends and family, I have done nothing but smile, cry and praise your names.  Your work has filled our hearts with so much joy and Chris & I are honored to be able to carry these amazing photographs, and the memories they evoke, with us for the rest of our lives.

We have been perusing and discussing the images nonstop and will likely be calling upon your expertise to help us create the best storybook possible. We have so much confidence in you both and your work has done nothing but illustrate to us that you are our best resource.

We always get really excited when we have the chance to see one of our past wedding couples at a wedding. Well, it’s even better when we get to see their whole family! When Jamie told me her little sister was getting married, we were completely honored and thrilled to join them for another big family event.  Carrie & Dustin’s wedding was full of joy, family closeness, and even more love than we anticipated.

The week before the wedding, Carrie had been joking about losing her head.  Since we know Carrie & Dustin don’t like things to be too serious, we began our photo session with what we affectionately call our “headless bride” photo. (Carrie, thank you for being our very first “headless bride”. ) Between the laughter, these two also gave us some beautiful and striking moments to shoot.

Michele & Matt, the honor was entirely ours. We hope we get to spend time like this again with you as your family grows.

Weddings with such cool people as Rebecca & Ed really make our day. And Rebecca’s very kind words just blow us away.

We met Jenni and Ulysses at our good friends’ wedding and when we got engaged, they were at the top of our list. Although we were nervous about the cost, we couldn’t find another photographer with the same quality or enthusiasm. Once we signed with them, we never thought twice and firmly believe it is one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning.

Jenni and Ulysses are first and foremost awesome people. They love what they do and their enthusiasm is infectious. From our first engagement shoot to receiving our album, it was as if we were with two of our good friends. We felt so comfortable with them that we were able to enjoy every moment, forget about the camera in front of us, and let our true emotions shine through – they even taught us how to “smile with our eyes”! Their style is a unique; if you can blend hip, modern, intimate, and classic, you would wind up with their style. This is why we love our wedding album and all of the pictures so much; they capture how we felt that day and we have countless “favorites.”

Throughout our wedding planning process, Jenni and Ulysses were there. They helped us plan our photography, but we also asked them to recommend other vendors or tossed ideas off of them. At times they acted as our much needed pseudo wedding planners. All of our friends and family rave over our photos. They are also incredibly fast – we had our thank you notes less than 2 months after the wedding and our album in 5 months (and we weren’t very good about doing things as quickly as we should have).

We hope to see Jenni and Ulysses again soon and recommend them to all of our friends. Your wedding is such an emotional day – make sure to hire photographers that will capture your feelings, not just faces.

We’re a huge fan of Victoria & Steven. They’ve continued to keep in touch with us following their wedding, even after the birth of their TWIN boys. So we deeply appreciated Victoria’s kind words and rave about us, as seen on ProjectWedding.com.

I knew from the moment I saw their photos of a wedding at Snug Harbor that I wanted Ulysses Photography for my wedding. I started up a conversation with them via phone and felt comfortable right from the start. Feeling comfortable with the people who will be responsible for capturing some of the most personal and important moments of your life is so important.

Once we actually met for our engagement session photos, I knew without a doubt that these are wonderful people. People who I would invite over for dinner, and want to be friends with!!

And the photos?? Well, what can I say? I am in love with them. Our album is PERFECT. The husband and wife team, for me was the clincher. We get so excited when a couple not only wants to turn us loose for some creative photo opportunities, but also prepares themselves well with plenty of fun details and ideas, as well as sets aside TIME to actually make those things happen. This sort of preparation made Katie & Don’s day an absolute delight to photograph. Katie’s fur stole, her birdcage veil, and their choice of several great shooting locations made for a wonderful photographic adventure, and they were clearly just as thrilled about it as we were. Even the rain and wind held up for us, so we were able to enjoy the spectacular autumn view with them.

Another highlight of the day was their fabulously choreographed first dance. You could see on their faces just how much they were enjoying the routine. The standing ovation from their fans let them know how much everyone else enjoyed it, too. Katie & Don, thank you so much for choosing us, and for letting us have such a fun day with you!

Even though we’ve only known Helena & David a short time, we knew their wedding day was going to be special. This event was all about the people the people they love most, with Helena’s family flying in from the Philippines, and lots of close family and friends surrounding them. Jennifer & Jason’s wedding day was such a blast for everyone who had a share in it. Jennifer looked stunning even before her gown was put on, and her eyes lit up with excitement at the prospect of seeing Jason just a few moments after our arrival. In a break from tradition, they saw one another in a private Reveal session, so they could enjoy a warm embrace and talk together about their thrilling day to come. It was a just beautiful seeing their emotive reaction to one another.

The rest of the day was just as enjoyable for everyone. There were plenty of friends and family gathered at The Grandview for the indoor ceremony in the main ballroom area, followed by a fabulous party hosted by one of our very favorite DJs. It was a wonderful day (and night) to remember. Jen & Jason, we couldn’t have been happier than to be there with you and your families. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of the day, and for taking such good care of us with a tasty meal.

We’re enjoying the peak foliage season as the warm tones begin to come to New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley region. We’ve had opportunity to take some beautiful photos even though the weather has sometimes been a bit rainy. It doesn’t at all dampen our excitement, nor that of our awesome couples. After all the shooting, we’re very busy catching up on office work and working as fast as we can to develop the photos for your enjoyment. It will be a few more days, but we’ll have some blog previews and galleries available from the weddings of Jennifer & Jason, Helena & David, and Katie & Don as soon as we’re able! We promise it will be worth the wait!

Melissa & Mark have been some of our biggest fans since Day #1, so we knew we’d enjoy their wedding day. Melissa was definitely in her glory, and she looked positively radiant in her beautiful diamond-white gown. After a few minutes of photographing some bridals it was off to the church, where Mark was anxious to get under way and see his lovely bride come down the aisle. You could truly feel the energy of everyone’s excitement in the room.

Melissa made sure there were lots of nice little touches throughout the day that emphasized their love for color and variety, and that showcased their personalities. From her awesome hot-pink shoes to the animal print table linens, the theme was all about the fun time that she and Mark have with one another. We were excited to see Mark’s expression at seeing his own groom’s cake, made to look just like his beloved Plymouth Prowler. (a favorite car of mine, too, especially since seeing and photographing it during their engagement session!)  It was a wonderful autumn day for everyone. We’ve got to send a BIG shout of thanks to Melissa & Mark for taking such good care of us with a great meal at the Grandview, and for just all around having such a great time and allowing us to be a part of it with them.

U & J, we were lucky enough to be home at the same time when our albums arrived. Looking through them, we actually felt like we were re-living our wedding day. To quote my in-laws, “incredible.” We loved knowing you took such great time and care with the slideshow. I could watch it over and over again. Laura & Phil are such down-to-earth, fun-loving people, that it was a total joy to spend the day with them. The home of Phil’s family was full of excitement – and lots of food and noise – as he, his brothers, and the rest of his groomsmen quickly got prepped for photos and for the rest of the day. Their energetic activity was easily mirrored by Laura and her girls getting the last touches of hair and makeup done. Laura’s custom-made gown was just perfect for her, and she looked absolutely stunning. She couldn’t stop smiling throughout our brief bridal session. Before you knew it, we were headed to the Meadowlands, where she and Phil enjoyed a fantastically fun and romantic period of time together before their ceremony. They were adorable.

One highlight of the reception evening was when Phil took Laura by complete surprise when he pulled out his guitar, set up an extra chair next to his own, and invited Laura to sit and listen to him play for her while he sang Growing Old With You (from the Adam Sandler movie, “The Wedding Singer”). Laura was beside herself with laughter, and with love for Phil and his classic rendition.

Laura & Phil, our eager anticipation of your wedding day couldn’t have been better rewarded. Thank you so much for choosing us and seeing that we were cared for with a delicious meal. We’re truly inspired by your heartfelt devotion to your family and friends. We wish nothing but happiness for you in your future together. Andrea looked simply amazing in her lacy designer Lazaro gown, and Joe’s broad smile showed how much he loved the way she looked when he first saw her. After the brief ceremony, their family and closest friends congratulated and welcomed them with hugs. We then went back into the historic church for a few minutes to get some portraits near the captivating Chagall and Matisse glass windows.

Then it was off to the fabulous Abigail Kirsch at Tappan Hill for their reception. We always love the beauty, helpful service, and fantastic food (thank you Andrea & Joe!) at the Abigail Kirsch venues, and this evening was no disappointment. The tables were beautifully spotlighted and designed to show the room off to its best.

After spending some quiet time with the couple for romantic portraits of just the two of them, everyone was in for a fantastic experience of cocktails, dinner, and dancing. It was a crowd full of warmth and energy, and we couldn’t have been more privileged than sharing the evening with Andrea & Joe and their favorite people.

The beautiful Hudson River near the town of Piermont and the mostly sunny blue skies served as a perfect backdrop for their private Reveal together before the ceremony. Josh was visibly moved when seeing his bride-to-be for the first time this way. Sarah was simply amazing to see, the asymmetrical lines of her designer gown moving beautifully as she approached Josh. The waterfront was full of weekend passersby, but the happy couple were in their own world as they shared this wonderful time together.

Sarah & Josh, we had such a great time with you. We love your spontaneity and genuineness with one another, and we’re thrilled to have been chosen for your wedding. Thank you for allowing us to share this amazing day, as well as for the tasty meal.

Michele & Matt put a lot of thought into personal touches that were seen throughout their day. From the handmade invitations to the cookies and cards on the reception tables; from the purple & black argyle socks that the guys wore to the couple’s signature Purple Haze drink; from the beautifully framed family and engagement session photos to their guest sign-in book, there was so much colorful detail to be enjoyed.

Even if there had been no details at all, Michele & Matt would easily have been the attraction of the day. We loved seeing how beautifully emotive Michele was, and how connected Matt stayed with her. They served up one of our favorite first dances ever (these two definitely have skilz), energizing the crowd with how completely overjoyed they were just being together on the dance floor.

Michele & Matt, we’ve truly enjoyed each and every minute with you. Thank you so much for allowing us to spend the day with you. Your family and friends made us feel so included, and we also appreciate the very tasty meal.  It was a wonderful way to spend our anniversary weekend.
