Nikki + Jared‘s wedding day made for some incredibly warm and intimate photos despite the rain. In fact, the rain was an integral part of what made many of their photos so unique, which is probably one of the reasons the editors of Style Me Pretty fell in love with their photos. Their gorgeous day at the lovely Tarrytown House Estate will transport you to a time in days past, when a rainy stroll through a Westchester garden estate by the Hudson River was the most delightfully romantic way to spend time together.

We loved hanging out with Katie + Chris in NYC’s scenic Central Park. Katie had previously seen us at no less than two of her friends’ weddings, so we had great chemistry with the two of them nearly instantly. But what really thrilled us was Katie + Chris’ constantly entertaining interaction with one another. It didn’t matter who or what was happening around them. And it didn’t even matter that we got completely drenched in an afternoon downpour. We each laughed at the spontaneity of it all while Katie simply put on her rain boots for more photos and Chris kept a loving arm around her. A beautiful afternoon in NYC.

We were super excited about getting together with Laura & Phil for their engagement photos. Laura has this really fun natural vibe about her that we love being around. And this was our first time meeting Phil, so the session gave us the opportunity to hang out with him and get to know this very easygoing groom-to-be even better. Making the session even more photogenic is the fact they are very physical together – with plenty of hugging, lifting, dipping, and even a headlock or two. Awesome!

When it came to the weather, our day with them had it all. We started out with sunshine, and towards the end of our shoot it started to pour. But Laura & Phil were up for anything, and I told them that as long as our cameras could keep shooting, we would, too. So they went out for a fun & romantic stroll in the summer shower for a completely memorable time of shooting. We were all soaked when it was over, but we were each overjoyed at how the evening had turned out. We can’t wait to show them their photos!

Chic. Elegant. Stylish. Jazzy. Cool.  We could go on and on with adjectives to describe this amazing couple and their wedding in NYC. They were each full of joy as they were surrounded by the love of their family & friends, the sounds of jazz music, and the unique sort of trendiness that you find only in New York.

We are so appreciative to Maryann & Benjeil for sending this couple to us, and it was such a treat to see them again, along with their adorable little boy!

Jamie & Paul’s wedding day was filled with happy superlatives. Althought it was raining heavily when we arrived at her parents’ house, we assured Jamie that we would take care of the weather. Any concerns evaporated as she began putting on her stunning gown by Vera Wang, decorated with a cluster of grapes at the left waist and elegantly accessorized by her grape-themed earrings. Hair and makeup completed, she was truly a breathtaking sight.

Paul was ready and waiting at the church, dressed in a very distinguished chocolate-colored suit (I’d love to find one like this). He had no problem letting his enthusiasm show. We could not have been happier for each of them. Following the ceremony, we all headed for The Garrison, where a new phase of our photography began when we were able to spend some private time with Jamie & Paul. They relaxed and enjoyed themselves, while behind them was the beautiful Hudson River and the setting sun, on one of of the most incredible autumn days you could imagine. Together we were able to create some absolutely STUNNING pieces of work. We cannot wait to show them the gallery, including our personal favorites from this session.

Jamie & Paul, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with you. We want to offer our sincerest thanks for the way you’ve trusted us since Day #1 and allowed us to do our best for you. You’re a beautiful couple, and we deeply appreciate the relationship we’ve been able to cultivate with you. And thank you so much for the excellent meal.
