We get so excited when a couple not only wants to turn us loose for some creative photo opportunities, but also prepares themselves well with plenty of fun details and ideas, as well as sets aside TIME to actually make those things happen. This sort of preparation made Katie & Don’s day an absolute delight to photograph. Katie’s fur stole, her birdcage veil, and their choice of several great shooting locations made for a wonderful photographic adventure, and they were clearly just as thrilled about it as we were. Even the rain and wind held up for us, so we were able to enjoy the spectacular autumn view with them.

Another highlight of the day was their fabulously choreographed first dance. You could see on their faces just how much they were enjoying the routine. The standing ovation from their fans let them know how much everyone else enjoyed it, too. Katie & Don, thank you so much for choosing us, and for letting us have such a fun day with you!

It was almost like a little family reunion for us, too, as we we all hugged one another in greeting. Everyone had already had a delicious lunch at the late 19th century grand castle at Mohonk Mountain House. Having done weddings there, we were thrilled to return for a fun and relaxing afternoon with the Coppola Family. They’ve expanded by a bit, too, since Greg’s sister & her husband Vinnie have had a new one added to their nest.

Jan & Greg, we had SUCH a blast getting reacquainted with everyone. And most of all, it was a joy to spend some time with you again. We can’t wait to show you all of the photos, as you were each just as much fun to shoot as ever!

The big event took place at the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York. This Victorian castle surrounded by breathtaking, endless views of the mountains and beautiful Lake Mohonk sets an amazing scene for a storybook wedding.

Even after seeing each other privately beforehand, Kalan’s emotion during the ceremony took her by surprise. Mike and Kalan’s deep love for each other was obvious to all, and they enjoyed every moment of their special day together with their friends and family.

The food at Mohonk was fabulous. Even though we’ve eaten there many times, they never cease to amaze us. The staff at Mohonk were a pleasure to work with. We also have to give our highest recommendation to the DJ, Frank at Boss Systems. He loves his job as much as we love ours. We really enjoyed his relaxed friendliness and professionalism, and would love to work with him again.

Kalan and Mike, thank you so much for treating us as your guests! We had a wonderful time, from beginning to end.
