Melissa + Ari have a superpower called Patience. It keeps them calmly but eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first baby. Not yet knowing if they’ll have a boy or girl only adds to their excitement of the process. We’re nothing less than thrilled that they contacted us for photos showcasing their love for one another, and their love for the little one whom they’ve not yet met face-to-face. We’re learning patience, too, as we anxiously wait to join this gentle couple and their baby once more for joyful newborn photos!

LaurenM_e046Sometimes we don’t get to meet our out-of-state couples until the day of the wedding. But when we have the chance to spend a little time with them, the way we did with Lauren + Nick, we’re always glad for the opportunity. These two are full of warmth, which is a good thing because the winter thaw hadn’t quite happened when they made their trip from Tennessee to New York. That was perfectly okay, though, as we kept them arm-in-arm most of the time while we photographed them and got to know them even better. We’re incredibly eager to join them for their Big Day at West Point and the magnificent mansion at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club.

Carly + TJ loved little Christopher long before he was even born. It makes us laugh and smile when we remember Carly’s very excited question on her wedding day before she even walked down the aisle: “Should I schedule the newborn session NOW?? I know how early you get booked up!” The entire room burst into laughter, and we said, “Let’s get you married to TJ first.”  That conversation led us down an incredibly happy path with this overwhelmingly warm couple. When we finally got to meet Baby Christopher, we knew immediately that his life was going to be full of unique opportunities and possibilities as a result of their obvious devotion to him. His first photo session with us was one for the record books — he didn’t utter a single peep until we were nearly done! We’re thrilled for Carly + TJ and their newest family member, and we look forward to watching him grow!

From the moment we walked into Kristin’s home and heard the the buzz and laughter between herself and her bridesmaids, we knew this day was going to be full of excitement. She looked nothing less than stunning in Maggie Sottero. Vinny was all smiles as he watched her walk down the aisle to join him at the altar for a beautiful ceremony. Both were fearless where the chilly temperatures were concerned — a good thing, too, because we had some beautiful light to work with for impossibly romantic images of the two of them. We’re pumped about being their photographers, and we can’t wait to share all the results with them! Here’s a sneak peek for now, and the rest of their gallery will be live in our Boutique when they return from their honeymoon.

Jill + Paul’s wedding day was a celebration extraordinaire! These long-time sweethearts have always had electric sparks for one another. Now it was time to put those sparks on full display for their own wedding. Jill’s organizational and planning skills were in full effect, with her winter wedding accented by crystals, white floral arrangements, and candlelit details. We love showcasing little things like this because it shows how much thought has gone into a beautiful presentation for the guests. But as beautiful as the decor might be, when two people become more than mere clients to us, it always bodes even better for their photographs. We’re overjoyed to be this couple’s photographers, and we genuinely hope to join them again as their life story unfolds.

We usually remember the vast majority of the faces of wedding guests even years after the event has passed. When wedding guests remember us, however, and then excitedly talk with us about photographing their own wedding — that’s when we know we have something special. Julia + Josh are absolutely something special to us. It doesn’t surprise us one bit that there’s a powerful electric spark between them. Josh says it was definitely “LOVE” from the very first time he laid eyes upon Julia, a beautiful California native now living in New York. Our photo session gave us a great opportunity to see them at their best, funniest, and most fashionable together. We had a great photo shoot as we talked and walked through one of their very favorite places. We’re truly pumped to be their photographers, and we can’t wait to join them for their Spring wedding, where we’ll see a number of familiar favorite faces.

After photographing Lynda + Jim’s beautiful elopement, we sincerely hoped we’d see this happy couple again in the future. Little did we know we’d also get to photograph Lynda’s daughter and her wedding reception here on the East Coast! Having been married already for a few weeks, much of the normal pressure of a typical wedding day was removed, so Amanda + Justin could simply enjoy the excitement of family and friends, along with all the festivity of their reception at View, a lovely restaurant with outstanding views of the Great South Bay of Long Island. They’re a fun-loving couple, and they’re simply perfect together. We’re wishing them both a very happy future, and we truly hope we get to see Amanda + Justin again!

Dogs always seem to know when something special is about to happen. We could see Layla’s excitement as soon as she climbed out of the SUV and came running to meet us! She’d already been to a spa for pampering and to give her a gleaming coat, and now she was ready for closeups with her “mom,” Debra. Layla was all smiles the entire time. These two are an incredibly close pair, making them naturals for beautiful portraits and candids. We’re overjoyed that Debra called us to help create this truly special session. It’s even more gratifying to see Debra choose her favorites as gifts, artwork for her home, and in a lovely keepsake art book. Photos like these are meant to live with you, and we’re glad Layla & Debra will enjoy these for a long time to come.

Although we’re always excited when a couple contacts us for photography, it means that much more when it’s someone we’ve known for a long time and have been hoping to work with. We were first introduced to Maryellen as Richard’s sister at Rich + Aleeta‘s wedding. Even then, we knew there was something really unique and lovable about her, and that it would be quite the special guy who would earn her “yes.” So we’re obviously overjoyed to get asked to be their photographers, and to honored get to know them in this more intimate way.  Their engagement session was full of warm feelings, effervescent giggles (Maryellen’s), and genuine affection. They’re every bit as thrilled with their photos as we are. We know their wedding in Montauk, NY, is going to be spectacular!

Having seen Adele + Terry at earlier points in their relationship together, we can honestly say the two of them simply get better and more beautiful as the days go by. Their close-knit bond is a large part of what made Adele’s maternity session so special as each in their family of three had a share in getting ready to welcome a new life into their circle. Showing off their style, and giving us a glimpse at their inner joy, this was one of our favorite times with them. It’s truly gratifying to see Adele adding her favorites from this session to her home decor. Can’t wait to tell our readers about their little girl, Baby Arabella!

We’ve always immensely enjoyed photographing Iris + Nick. We were bursting at the seams to see more of them again, especially now that a brand new little face is a part of their lives! Baby Elena greeted us with smiles right away, her curiosity about us winning out over any initial shyness. It wasn’t long at all before she was cooing and playing right along with us for a beautiful session. Her parents are fantastic with her. We’re excited about documenting this new chapter in their lives, and we can’t wait to see them again as Elena grows.

CarolWe had an amazingly beautiful family day with Carol in one of the Hudson Valley region’s most scenic areas. She is one of our most emotive fans, and we always love hearing from her. We can’t help but feel like part of her extended family, especially after reading her kind words below:

Good afternoon Jenni & Ulysses,
The set of 5×7’s and 8×10’s just arrived.  I’m breathless!  … and … in tears.  They are so, so beautiful!
Thank you so much!!!
Smiles,
Carol

Carol has a discerning eye, and she genuinely appreciates the power of a still photograph. Her home is filled with beautiful keepsakes of our work in the form of books, wall art, and prints. We’re so glad to be her photographers!

Before we knew it, Kerrie + Frank’s wedding day was already here! We’d anticipated a true blowout affair, but the wedding was even more beautiful and the reception even more energetic than we’d expected. The cherry on top for us was getting to know their warm and fun-loving families even better. We’ve known Kerrie’s dad, Rich, for many years as the band leader for his group of Phase One singers and musicians. But it was a true privilege being chosen as Kerrie + Frank’s photographers and seeing Rich simply enjoy being a proud dad as his little girl became a gorgeous bride and wife.

Maureen was actually the first of Megan’s two sisters that we met on Megan’s wedding day. So when we were asked to photograph them and their boys for an Autumn family day together, we were already primed to enjoy ourselves and show them how much fun these sessions can be. Their oldest was the perfect helper when it came to his little brother (since two-year-olds do things only on their own terms. LOL!) And seeing Maureen + Sherwin enjoy a brief bit of alone time together while their boys were off exploring was a great way to get to know them even better. We couldn’t be happier at being this beautiful family’s photographers, and hope we get to see them all again someday soon!

We initially got to know Eileen + Tim at the wedding of Eileen’s sister, Megan. Of course we should have expected it, but somehow we had even more fun than anticipated with the two of them and their three adorable kids during their own Autumn portrait session.  Their children were full of giggles, and they loved the wide-open spaces of the park for exploration and games. Seeing Eileen + Tim so happy with how their photos turned out was all we could have asked for at their Reveal. We can’t wait until next time!

We couldn’t hide our excitement over seeing Maddie and her parents again even if we’d wanted to!! Our plans over the past several months to join them at a beautiful family home on the North Fork of Long Island were so worth it! Maddie’s bright eyes and playful personality had us completely infatuated with her. Seriously, have you ever seen more personality in one tiny little person? Maddie didn’t mind one bit going through several outfit changes as long as all eyes and attention were on her (not at all a problem for the two of us!). The setting Sun gave them gorgeous light for playing on the quiet beach, and a walk in the calm warm water of the bay made for a perfect ending to the day. We can’t express how much we love and appreciate being the photographers for this loving family!

There was never a doubt that Stephanie + Patrick’s first photo shoot with us was going to be a huge success. There’s something about these two that just made us want to photograph them from the moment we met them in person. They’re naturally affectionate, and they completely trusted our vision for their photos. Stephanie has this very cool artistic sense about her, and Patrick is the perfect strong anchor for her soul. They’re a beautiful match both in person and in photos. Our Extended Session of engagement photos was everything we hoped it would be and more! We’re incredibly eager to join them again for what promises to be a spectacular wedding at Crabtree’s Kittle House in 2016.

We’re glad Hannah + Jared’s day was so beautiful, so they could enjoy the last few leaves of Autumn color in our regions. After a lovely candlelit ceremony, their large crowd of closest friends and guests were primed for what would prove to be one of the most energetic, pulse-pounding, and joyous horahs of 2015 — merely one of the highlights of their incredible day!

It didn’t take long at all for Mikayla and her little sister, Nia, to break out of their initial shyness in front of us. These two beauties are natural stars, and we loved our time with them and their parents. Their sense for micro-fashion and fun-loving nature were perfect not only for photos, but also for great memories with mom & dad.

Nothing could be more enjoyable on this Autumn day than a warm afternoon with Baby Eloise. And have you ever seen a baby with her very own Metrocard? This sweet little girl was highly anticipated by her parents, and she pulled out all the stops for her very first portrait session. We’re thrilled to have her parents trust, and we can’t wait to watch her grow.
