Melissa & Bo’s Engagement Session!

Melissa & Bo have been so incredibly busy working and getting ready for their upcoming wedding that it was high time they got together for a nice date together to simply enjoy some time together. We couldn’t believe how well the day worked out for them.

Both Melissa and Bo were all smiles and energy for us and wonderfully emotive. We had to WORK to keep up with Melissa because her gorgeous expressions would change so quickly. It was great! Best of all, they were really into one another, without any nervousness about showing their affection in front of the cameras. We had a fantastic time with them and can’t wait for their wedding day at the Eagle’s Nest.

Melissa & Bo, thanks for a GREAT time! You were awesome. Enjoy these preview photos while we prepare your entire gallery for you. It will be available very soon in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website.

Jennie & Kevin’s Engagement

We first met Jennie’s parents at Maureen & Andy’s wedding at Onteora Mountain House a few years ago. We hit it off so well with them, and we were so excited when Jennie called to tell us that she was now getting married.

It took literally only seconds for us to begin getting fun and engaging photos of Jennie & Kevin. We had every bit as much fun as they had with one another. They are a couple with lots of laughs, affection, and style. We know their wedding at The Mansion At Timber Point is going to be amazing.

We can’t wait to show them their entire gallery of photos. For now, look at a brief teaser of photos by clicking the “PLAY” button below. And then go to the “Client Proofs” area of our main website to see the rest!

Dory & Jon’s Engagement

Dory & Jon were probably just as excited as we were for this e-session. Both have such a nice laid-back sense of humor, and this helped them to enjoy their session to its full potential. They really are a perfect pair together. Each of them love the outdoors and wide-open spaces, so the wooded park at which we met was ideal for them.

They were great photographic models, too. Dory looked fantastic, and they each brought a change of clothing to change up their look for different segments of our shoot. It was a great preview of things to come. We eagerly await their wedding day in the autumn at the Full Moon Resort.

Enjoy these sneak peeks at their photos. The complete gallery will be made available in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. As always, we love hearing from our readers, so please click on the “Comments” link above this blog entry to leave your thoughts and greetings.

Anna & Javier’s Engagement

Anna & Javier immediately impressed us with their shared excitement for photography. But we had no idea how much excitement we ourselves would feel as we did when photographing their engagement session. I am rarely left without words, but I think this time I’ll let the images speak for themselves with this little sneak peek. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Anna & Javier, thank you SO MUCH for spending the time with us. What an amazing session we had with you! You are each beautiful people. Your affection and passion for one another shows so clearly. It’s going to be such an amazing privilege to photograph your wedding day at Round Hill.

Look for their complete engagement gallery in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. We love hearing from our readers, so please leave us a note by clicking on the “Comments” link at the top of this blog entry.

Victoria & Steven’s Engagement

Ulysses and I were so excited to finally meet Victoria & Steven! We had spoken extensively on the phone, and we just knew we were going to have a great time with them. This adorable couple were all sugared up from a cake tasting before their session, and literally had us laughing all the way through. :) They also have the neatest story about how they met … over their love of cappuccino! They are both serious cappuccino aficionados and reviewers on yelp.com. They had been reading each other’s reviews for months, and then finally met at a Yelp event. They’ve been together ever since! So naturally, there will be a coffee theme at their upcoming July wedding.

Enjoy this preview while we prepare the rest of their gallery, which will be available soon on our main website under “Client Proofs,” and please feel free to post your comments.

Kerri & Nick’s Engagement

Kerri & Nick’s engagement (#050)When we arrived at the lake house owned by Kerri’s mother, we were immediately taken by the quiet charm of the surroundings there. Kerri & Nick’s friends and family were all gathered together and were enjoying themselves while the four of us went out to the lake for a fun-filled photo session. Even if they were a little bit nervous about family watching from the lake house windows, this adorable couple did a fantastic job allowing their affectionate feelings for one another to show.

The view of the lake was beautiful on this early spring day. And being able to walk around the lake towards a sandy beach-like area added to the variety of their photos. They had a great time, and we had a blast getting to know them better. The e-session was filled with the entire range of expression running from pure fun and silliness to their genuine love for one another. Great session, Kerri & Nick! Thank you for spending an afternoon with us. We can’t wait to show you the rest, and we think you’ll be amazed seeing how great you two were together.

For now, enjoy the teasers in this blog. The rest of the gallery will be posted very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website.

Jessica & Barry’s Engagement

Jessica & Barry’s e-session (#054)What do you do when the winds are gusting to nearly 40 mph and the temps are 40° F with a wind chill of around 32° F? You take your couple outdoors for some photos, of course! Jessica & Barry knew that we like to go all out even when the weather is a bit iffy, and they came prepared to enjoy it!

Jessica looked very stylish in an ivory top-jacket and designer jeans. She’d taken the day off for a trip to the salon for her hair & makeup just for this photo shoot. We were thrilled about it because she looked so gorgeous. Barry is a photographer himself, which excites us because we love shooting for other photographers. So we knew we’d all have a great time. Jessica & Barry’s e-session (#064)We spent a little time at an indoor location and gradually worked our way outdoors since the sunlight (and the shadows we used) was so stunning. We ended with some photos that were particularly fierce for Jess & Barry (NOTE: Fierce = Awesome). We LOVED the portion they were able to close on, as they really earned it in this weather.

Thank you, Jess & Barry! We’re greatly anticipating your wedding at the beautiful Chateau Hathorn.

Their complete gallery will be available very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Keep your browsers ready! And please leave a comment by clicking on the “Comments” link above. We love to hear from all our readers about their favorite images.

Jessica & Stephen’s Engagement

Jessica & Stephen’s engagement (#41)We were so excited that Jessica & Stephen decided upon us for their photography, not only because of their own gentle and trusting nature, but also because their wedding would be at The Eagle’s Nest, a venue with one of the most beautiful views in the region. Because we enjoy shooting there so much, we’d come highly recommended to Jessica & Stephen. None of us needed any further convincing after our first meeting together.

They were each interested in a natural and yet artistic approach that matched their own quietly excited personalities. Jessica had a dress with really cute black & white polka dots of graduated sizes, and it was just fun and flirty enough to help make for a delightful session. This happily in-love couple had no problems whatsoever staying close and showing affection for our cameras. It was a fantastic e-session, and we know they’re going to be blown away by seeing just how great they look in photos.

The complete gallery is coming very soon to the “Client Proof” area of our main website. So stay tuned, and leave us a comment!

Lilline & Evan’s Engagement

Lilline & Evan engagement session (#23)From the time we first met with Lilline & Evan, we connected very quickly and easily with them. Their personalities were calm and easy-going, and yet earnest and intense at the same time. A great match for us! We couldn’t wait for their e-session. Evan had recently returned from a trip to Israel, where he not only had a chance to continue his studies in medicine, but also to reconnect with his culture. Meanwhile, Lilline was busy with school and finalizing plans for their wedding. It was virtually like a double date to spend time with them again.

The photo shoot was a blast from start to finish, with plenty of fun and style and fresh energy throughout. Not only did they look fashionably great together, but there were a host of little intimate moments that we were able to find for them. We know they’re going to be an amazing couple to spend time with on their wedding day at The Manor in West Orange, NJ.

Here are a couple of teasers from their session. But we can’t wait to release the entire gallery for them. It will be available soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Feel free to leave a comment by clicking the “Comments” link immediately above this blog entry.

Just Because . . .

We’re always encouraging our couples to look at their photos, and to look at them often! Why? Just because. When you go through your photos for the simple purpose of reminiscing over them, to enjoy your loving expressions, you’ll likely find that the emotion drawn up by the images can be very powerful. After all, you worked hard to look as fantastic as you do in those photos, and we work hard to find the mood that best expresses you in pictures!

We enjoy these images just as much as you do. I was recently perusing at random through some of our past engagement photos sessions and found a few that I wanted to share.

The feelings evoked by photos like these, whether contained in art-mounted prints or in book collections, is priceless. It’s one reason why we cherish the time you give us during the shoot to create pieces like these, and we know you will, too.

Trish & Noel’s Engagement

Trish & Noel’s engagement (#37)What an absolute joy it was to see Trish & Noel again! Although it was a cold and blustery day, nothing could dampen their good mood and enthusiasm for getting together with us for their portrait session. Trish’s engaging eyes and smile brighten a room, and Noel’s sense of humor and a good time kept us laughing through the entire shoot. They each looked fantastic. They tightly held on to one another during the outdoor portion of the session, making for some warm and fashionably romantic photos, supporting each other through the chill.

Trish & Joel: You did a fabulous job! We can’t wait to show you all the rest of the photos! We know how excited you are about your photography, and this gives us so many reasons to look forward to our time with you at the VIP Country Club later this year.

P.S. - Jenni and I loved hearing the sound of your Irish accents again. We could listen to you two talk all day long! :)

For now, here are a couple of previews while we prepare the rest of the gallery for viewing. It will be available soon in the “Client Proof” area of our main website. We love hearing from our couples and our readers, so please leave us a comment!

Jacquelyn & Tom’s Engagement

Jacquelyn & Tom’s e-session (#27)We recently had our first snow of the season, and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more than we did while spending some time with Jacquelyn & Tom. This couple seemed just as excited as we were to be able to meet for the first time. They drove quite a distance to meet us for their e-session, so we knew right away that pictures are a priority for them. After spending some time getting to know one another a little better, we began a really enjoyable session of shooting. I think it was their complete comfort with one another that truly gave life, romance, and a fashionable edge to the photos. Excellent choice of clothing, too, I might add. They both looked great! :)

(Click image to see a larger version.)

Though meeting them in person for only the first time, we felt as if we’d known them for much longer. Their session today was just an indicator of how enjoyable their wedding day is going to be at the Thayer Hotel in beautiful West Point, NY.

We couldn’t be more pleased with the results, and we’re anxious to show them their photos! Their online gallery will be posted very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. We always love hearing from our readers and our brides (past, present AND future), so please say hello by clicking on the “Comments” link below. :)

Alex & Joe’s Engagement

Alex & Joe’s e-session (Norman, #12)We’re still in the midst of a busy production season. But we get our biggest charge out of actually working with and photographing our couples. So we were really excited to spend time with Alex & Joe for their e-session. They brought along with them the incredibly ADORABLE puppy, Norman, an English Bulldog - although at ~60 pounds, he’s really pushing the limits for puppy-hood. :) He was such a ham, with a bright and playful personality! :)

Alex & Joe’s e-session (#52)After taking a few “family” photos with the three of them, we took some time walking and getting to know Alex & Joe a bit better. Since it was just a bit chilly out by the Hudson River waterfront, we made sure to keep them really close together for warmth. Their August wedding at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, Connecticut is going to be a real blast, and we have some exciting things planned for it, so we can’t wait.

The results their e-session are amazing, and we’re anxious to share the full gallery of photos with them. For now, enjoy these two images as a little preview of what’s to come. The full gallery will be available very soon in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website. Stay tuned! :)

Kimberly & Eric’s Engagement

Kimberly & Eric’s e-session (#102)It’s been an awesome week for photography! We were especially looking forward to Kim & Eric’s e-session because we’ve known Kim for some time, having already photographed several of her friends’ weddings. We wanted to shout about it when they asked us to be their photographers! But thankfully, we contained ourselves so they wouldn’t think we were completely crazy. However, we do believe this fantastic couple will be shouting about it to their friends when they get to see their photos!

(Click image to see a larger version.)

Early in the session, Kimberly said, “This feels like a fashion shoot.” Yep!!… that was exactly the idea, and we had such a blast with them. We met at a gorgeous location overlooking a beautiful autumn-colored valley, just the right setting for this affectionate couple. Their wedding in the summer of ‘08 at the Catlin Gardens will be another reunion of sorts for all of us, and we can’t wait. :)

Keep your browsers pointed to our main website, as their online gallery is coming very soon to the “Client Proofs” area. And be sure to leave a comment either for Kim & Eric, or for us by clicking on the “Comments” link below. We love hearing from you.

Debbie & Mike’s Engagement

Debbie & Mike’s engagement (#33)Debbie & Mike are two of the kindest people you’d ever want to meet. We knew from our first meeting with them that we wanted to be their photographers. Since this was their first time ever working with professional photographers, they were super excited about the session, as were we.

Our streak of beautiful autumn weather was still with us, and Debbie & Mike took full advantage of it. Debbie’s smile brightened every frame we took of her, and Mike provided a constant and steady presence of warmth to support her. They were perfect together, and we all had a great time as we walked the small town for photos. If they were at all nervous with two cameras pointed at them, it didn’t show one bit. :)

The full gallery will be up very soon in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website. So keep your browsers ready for this bubbly couple. We can’t wait for their wedding in ‘08. We love getting feedback, so leave us a note by clicking on the “Comments” link after you’ve seen their pictures! :)

Grace & Mike’s Engagement

We first met Grace & Mike at Tanya & Craig’s wedding. Grace was a bridesmaid and was so excited to have recently become engaged herself. So you can imagine how thrilled we were when she called to ask us about photographing her own wedding.

Though we already knew we would hit it off and gel together as a team, we didn’t realize how well they’d photograph together until the day of this engagement session. We had a beautifully perfect day walking around a gorgeous park. Grace’s parents watched over the couple’s five-month-old lab mix during much of our session, but we also got to take a few with Grace & Mike along with their puppy (who was very camera shy but actually did just fine).

Their wedding at the Glen Island Harbour Club going to be both beautiful and exciting, as we’ll get to see a number of familiar faces again. Their wedding day can’t come soon enough.

Here’s a preview photo, but you’ll be able to see a lot more in their gallery. Look for it very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. And please feel free to leave a comment here by clicking on the “Comments” link immediately below their photo.

Stephanie & Matt’s Engagement

Getting together with Stephanie & Matt was like a happy reunion for us. We’ve photographed a few of their friends’ weddings now and had a chance to get to know them, so we were really looking forward to this session. With Stephanie’s fashionable look, her incredible smile and blue eyes, and Matt’s cool approachable presence, we knew this was going to be a great photo session.

We’re shooting a wedding today, but we couldn’t wait to post up a stunning preview from their fun e-session. We eagerly anticipate their wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grandview in 2008. :)

Kristina & Cory’s Engagement

Kristina & Cory (1 of 2)Kristina is going to school in California, so it was actually her mom who first found us while helping Kristina organize for the wedding. And we’re so glad they did! Although this e-session was our first time meeting them, we fell into a very easy rhythm of talking, getting to know one another, and having a blast during their photo shoot.

Perhaps the best thing about working with them is that they did so many little things quite naturally in the course of their showing affection to one another. We loved it and know they’ll be both surprised and thrilled to see the results.

Kristina & Cory, thanks for making the trip all the way out to meet us. There is no substitute for spending some quality time with our couples. It was wonderful meeting Kristina’s parents, as well, and we can’t wait to see the entire family for the wedding at Catlin Gardens. :)

Their gallery will be up very soon in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website, so keep your web browsers ready. Until then, we’d love to see your comments for Kristina & Cory or about the pictures by clicking on the “Comments” link immediately below.

January & Glenn’s Engagement

January & Glenn’s e-sessionBelieve it or not: We photographed January in September! Okay, I’m corny that way. I’ve been wanting to say that ever since we first met January and Glenn only a few weeks ago. :-D

January and Glenn are a truly passionate couple. It takes only a few minutes with them to realize that they are also each other’s best friend. Their engagement session today was filled with lots of plenty of conversation as we got to know one another much better, lots of humor, and loads of romance. Their lives are so busy and filled with activity that we wanted them to feel like they were going on a “date” for the period of time that we had with them. And that’s exactly what happened. It was just beautiful watching them slow down and enjoy one another. With each of them dressed with great style, we captured some amazing moments with them. We’re looking forward even more to their October wedding at the marvelous Chateau Hathorn in Warwick, NY.

Look for their gallery soon in the “Client Proofs” section of our main website. We think you’re going to enjoy it as much as we did. Please feel free to leave comments by clicking on the “Comments” link immediately below. We love hearing from you.

Rosanna & Kevin’s Engagement

Rosanna & Kevin simply made this day happen despite a couple of kinks in their plans. We were truly excited to see this warm and super-friendly couple again. They’re both so enthused and excited about our photography. Kevin has this cool and laid-back demeanor, and Rosanna is a very talented artist full of effervescence! The combination made for a fantastic session.

Rosanna and Kevin had seen samples from some of our past bridals and “morning after” sessions, where the bride and groom get to completely express themselves despite an often unlikely environment or shooting situation, for stunning results. They wanted something like that for their e-session. We know they’re going to be thrilled with the results and can’t wait to show them the complete gallery. If this session was any indication at all, we’re going to have a blast with them on their wedding day. CAN’T WAIT! :-D

Very soon you’ll be able to see their gallery in the “Client Proofs” area of our main website. Here’s a small sample of what you’ll get to enjoy.
