Laura & Chris have so much love to give one another, and those strong feelings of devotion are what gave the entire day its emotive signature. We had a wonderful time photographing this stunning bride and her attentive groom because they asked for beautifully different locations for shooting, and they were brave enough to take a few chances. They made a strong effort to carve out time during the busy day to ensure they had a relaxed photo session together. But more than anything, seeing how close they were with one another, and with their friends and family, ensured that we had ample opportunity to show off those feelings in photos. Laura & Chris, thanks so much for your willingness to climb mountains and “risk arrest” for the sake of great photos! ;)

We first met Christine 5 years ago, when she was the Maid of Honor at Jennifer & Jason’s wedding. We had so much fun at that wedding, Christine decided then and there that we were going to be her wedding photographers someday. We were thrilled when she called us to tell us she finally had a date, and was not looking at any other photographers because her mind was already made up. We knew the artist in Christine was going to create many beautiful details for her wedding (right down to handmade paper for their personalized vows). This was truly going to be a wedding to remember. Dom even choreographed their first dance!

Gina & Herman have been the sweetest couple to photograph. From Day One they put complete trust in us to show off not only what beautiful people they are, but also to artistically capture their feelings for one another. We had a wonderful time doing that for them on their wedding day. The tears of joy began early in the day when Gina’s parents saw her dressed as a bride. She was simply gorgeous. Herman’s laid-back confidence made him just as much a pleasure to be with, too. Although he was even more excited than anyone else while waiting for Gina to arrive, his cool black & white kicks clearly told everyone that he was going to be himself and enjoy his day as much as possible. And everyone certainly did! It was a beautiful day filled with lots of love all around.

We’ve known Allison & Dan for many years now, having photographed the wedding of Allison’s sister Jacquelyn, as well as the wedding of Allison’s close college friend Amy and Dan’s brother Doug (the very last image in the preview above is us with each of these awesome brides!). So this one had even more special meaning for us than usual, as it meant seeing so many beloved people once again. We’ve always loved everything about taking photos with this sweetest of couples, and this day was no different as they gave us access to the entire day’s activity as well as their feelings for one another. Their destination wedding in Saratoga Springs, NY, was a gala event where Allison’s pampering began at a comfortable bed & breakfast that took us back to another era in time, continued through an emotional ceremony, and ended with their families and closest friends gathered for a fun-filled reception of food, music, and dancing at the grand Saratoga National. It was an amazing experience for everyone.

We had a great time with Erika & Mick during their photo session! Near their home is a large park where they enjoy spending time together. This served as the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos.  Since they are getting married this autumn at the Onteora Mountain House, with it’s beautiful rustic setting, they wanted their engagement photos to be unique by featuring their urban hometown and the beautiful NYC skyline. When Christine described her upcoming shoot as her “Cinderella day”, we knew it was going to be a spectacular experience for each of us. They wanted photos that would highlight their love of dance and classic Hollywood romance. The amount of advance preparation they put into their session really showed us how much they valued photography! Both Christine and Dom simply radiated throughout the shoot, and they could pull off any look we gave them. Since Christine is a designer and artist herself, she made adorable signs to use in the photos. I just love the handmade touch. We can’t wait for their upcoming summer wedding at The Tides Estate.

Janine & Jarret traveled all the way down from Boston for their engagement session, and we couldn’t be happier than to have joined them for such a fun session! We’d met Janine several months earlier, and even though it was our first time meeting Jarret, we each quickly hit it off and fell into a great rhythm with one another. I can’t even describe how excited I was when my beautiful hair stylist, Ada, told me she was engaged! But when Ada and Jim chose us as her photographers, that put my excitement over the top.  It only got better when we got together for their engagement session. Meeting Ada’s adorable daughter, Katie, was also a a privilege.  We know their wedding at Benmarl Winery this summer is going to be an event to remember.

We really enjoy when we can go back with a couple to the very spot where they got engaged, which is exactly what we did with Amber & Matt. What do you get when you combine flagons, dragons, castles, medieval braided hair, sword swallowing, and belly dancing? You get Valerie & Mike’s amazing Renaissance-themed wedding, that’s what! Even our engagement photo session with them was done at one of their favorite castles, so their personalized guest book was filled with fun photos that fit them perfectly. We always get really excited when we have the chance to see one of our past wedding couples at a wedding. Well, it’s even better when we get to see their whole family! When Jamie told me her little sister was getting married, we were completely honored and thrilled to join them for another big family event.  Carrie & Dustin’s wedding was full of joy, family closeness, and even more love than we anticipated.

The week before the wedding, Carrie had been joking about losing her head.  Since we know Carrie & Dustin don’t like things to be too serious, we began our photo session with what we affectionately call our “headless bride” photo. (Carrie, thank you for being our very first “headless bride”. :) ) Between the laughter, these two also gave us some beautiful and striking moments to shoot.

This fun couple made the 5-hour drive all the way down from Buffalo for their engagement session, which we did right in the same town where James proposed to Angela. When we asked about their favorite thing in their new hometown, they said, “Being together.” It’s that same togetherness that gave life to their photos. Angela & James: Thank you for being willing to climb rocks, navigate wet fields (even though Angela was wearing new wedges), and take on any pose with such style. It was so worth it! We’re going to have a spectacular time together at Round Hill this winter!

We first met Allison & Dan several years ago when we photographed Dan’s brother’s wedding.  We then met up again last year when we photographed Allison’s sister’s wedding.  So you can imagine how excited we were when they called us up to photograph their own!  We can’t wait for their wedding day this July at Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs. It’s going to feel like a big family reunion for us.

Even though the day of their engagement session was freezing cold, we found some relief in the basement of a very cool winery  and were able to create some amazing art pieces for them.

We had a gorgeous autumn day for Michelle & Dan’s engagement photos, and everything was simply perfect. The fall colors  were a beautiful complement to Michelle’s red hair. Melissa & Mark have been some of our biggest fans since Day #1, so we knew we’d enjoy their wedding day. Melissa was definitely in her glory, and she looked positively radiant in her beautiful diamond-white gown. After a few minutes of photographing some bridals it was off to the church, where Mark was anxious to get under way and see his lovely bride come down the aisle. You could truly feel the energy of everyone’s excitement in the room.

Melissa made sure there were lots of nice little touches throughout the day that emphasized their love for color and variety, and that showcased their personalities. From her awesome hot-pink shoes to the animal print table linens, the theme was all about the fun time that she and Mark have with one another. We were excited to see Mark’s expression at seeing his own groom’s cake, made to look just like his beloved Plymouth Prowler. (a favorite car of mine, too, especially since seeing and photographing it during their engagement session!)  It was a wonderful autumn day for everyone. We’ve got to send a BIG shout of thanks to Melissa & Mark for taking such good care of us with a great meal at the Grandview, and for just all around having such a great time and allowing us to be a part of it with them.

Laura & Phil are such down-to-earth, fun-loving people, that it was a total joy to spend the day with them. The home of Phil’s family was full of excitement – and lots of food and noise – as he, his brothers, and the rest of his groomsmen quickly got prepped for photos and for the rest of the day. Their energetic activity was easily mirrored by Laura and her girls getting the last touches of hair and makeup done. Laura’s custom-made gown was just perfect for her, and she looked absolutely stunning. She couldn’t stop smiling throughout our brief bridal session. Before you knew it, we were headed to the Meadowlands, where she and Phil enjoyed a fantastically fun and romantic period of time together before their ceremony. They were adorable.

One highlight of the reception evening was when Phil took Laura by complete surprise when he pulled out his guitar, set up an extra chair next to his own, and invited Laura to sit and listen to him play for her while he sang Growing Old With You (from the Adam Sandler movie, “The Wedding Singer”). Laura was beside herself with laughter, and with love for Phil and his classic rendition.

Laura & Phil, our eager anticipation of your wedding day couldn’t have been better rewarded. Thank you so much for choosing us and seeing that we were cared for with a delicious meal. We’re truly inspired by your heartfelt devotion to your family and friends. We wish nothing but happiness for you in your future together. We can’t wait to show you how many amazing memories you have from your wedding day.

We found her and her bridesmaids showing off the finishing touches of their makeup and dresses to one another. Kerry’s elegant gown was perfectly suited to her, and we joked about how amazing she’d look both coming and going. Marino was waiting for us with his family at the church just around the corner. We could tell that he was simply taking in the entire set of events of the day, and that he was more than ready to see his bride and begin their future together. Kerry looked every inch the fabulous bride as she walked down the aisle with her father, while Marino’s face opened into the brightest smile imaginable. Following the relatively brief ceremony, the happy crowd outside the church greeted them with a sendoff of bubbles.

Kerry & Marino, your day was every bit as amazing as we knew it would be. Your parents and family were so kind and fun to spend time with. We couldn’t be happier for you both, and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks so much for making us a part of the day, and thank you also for the delicious meal.
