In Loving Memory of My Father

This is probably one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to write. My dad fell asleep in death two days ago. He was loved by nearly everyone who knew him. As for the rest, they all respected him. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, and all who spent time with him.

If you haven’t already seen it, I’d love for you to read more about my Dad & Mom’s 50th anniversary (click here). Hopefully it will make you smile. I’m sure we’ll have more to share with you at some point in the near future when we get back from our trip to Louisiana to be with family. But that’s all I want to say for now.

Thanks for all the very kind thoughts and prayers that have been sent our way. Jenni and I — and my entire family — truly appreciate it. Feel free to leave a comment via the “Comments” link below.

It’s ten years since I lost my own father and even though the sadness has subsided, he was a driving force in my life and career. As I grow older, I realise how I’m more and more like him. I find his mannerisms appear at the most unexpected and humourous moments. My father lives on in me, I know that.

Thanks to everyone who has sent their love and encouragement our way. It’s been not only appreciated, but also much needed. I say this on behalf of my entire family, as well as for myself.

Neale, it was great to meet you in England. I saw not only a real talent in you, but also a kindred love for all things photographic. How exciting that you are embarking on an entirely new phase of life and career! Keeping our fathers’ memory in our minds will keep us grounded and true, I’m sure of it. Take care.

Kevin & Rosanna, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. Meeting you two has been like opening up our curtains in the morning and allowing a bright burst of sunlight into the room. We can’t wait to see you for your engagement session and know it’s going to be incredible as a beginning of your photography. Thanks so much for allowing us to get to know you better. Talk to you both soon.
